kuyt isnt a cr@p player he just isnt good enough for the first team. madrid and manure were chasing berba. even man city. and who bothered about kuyt? he doesnt have the brilliance to win a game on his own. he doesnt have flair. he loses the ball far too often. he mayb have given that pass to babel but who couldnt? if that pass was so difficult to make then that person shouldnt be playing football. i think most of us want a player who does more then just hard work. i would rather have a lazy fecker who has higher chances of scoring then one who does so much hard wok but has so little to show for it. you win games by points via goals scored...not who ran the most.

and remind me again how berbatov has done at spurs in the last two seasons ?

He's done pretty well hasn't he? Well enough to convince Man Utd that they should pay out £30m for him.

Regardless of your own opinion of the valuation (you could argue that Taggart's opinion is more valid, maybe) do you think anyone would pay £30m for Kuyt right now?

Yes i think he should be in the team more often than not . he proves his worth in the team . i think he is good enough and if we dont win the league its not because of him . plenty of teams have won the league with decent players in the team/squad and thats what kuyt is - decent . and kuyt may of only got into the dutch squad because seedorf(not sure if thats the case or noy) wasnt there but he was still picked ahead of both robben and huntelaar in the euros .

I think that argument would carry a little more weight if Holland had won the Euro rather than disappointing as usual.

I think Kuyt is a hard working player that seems like a nice bloke, but who should be a squad player rather than a regular first team player.

If he is so good in Europe ...... play him in European games but 3 goals in a season and a bit, seems a very small return in the league, especially for a team that has very few regular goal scorers. Can we afford to play someone every week who's main contribution is hard work, when its creativity and lack of goals that is seemingly our biggest problem?

ok what about kuyt being the second highest in assists last year behind gerrard ? and already created chances and goals this season .

Kuyt made 4 assists in the league last season and scored 3 goals, thats playing half a season as a striker and half a season as a right sided forward. Not what I would call a great return from 2163mins in the league. Babel another player that is currently out of favour with some for example scored 4 and made 3 assists from 1415 mins in the league.

As I have said previously I think we need someone with more to offer than hard work as a regular starter.

Finances and repercussions count for a lot more on the pitch than you state . if it wasnt for finances we may not have players like torres and masher in the squad so the goal was a bit more important than that . and how cares if it came of his shin ? did torres or keane score that night ? 30 odd million pounds worth of strikers ?

I imagine getting a goal would have been mentioned (same way it would have done in the numerous league games he's failed to score in) He scored, well done
