Whos comparing Kuyt to Torres?
There is no-one anywhere in the world at any stage who is any bigger or any better than this football club.

Disagree here, mate.

Actually, in his earlier games, when deployed upfront in a conventional 4-4-2 with Crouch, he was quite decent. Didn't exactly move the earth but decent nonetheless, imo.

Yes but who would you rather have on the right wing?
My point is that Kuyt is sh1t for a team like Liverpool who has aspirations of challenging for the league, if he went to a bottom of the table club then he'd probably be ok.

I just like how every time people start a Kuyt is sh.it thread he pops up to score a really important goal he sure ain't making it easy for you Kuyt haters is he lol.

I like him I always will he gives every thing for team and just to have him on the pitch spurs others on with his work rate which I feel can only be a positive.

Won't touch the greasy cun.t , goes missing in all big games , most of his goals come against smaller sides . Kuyt steps up for the bigger games , last season arsenal , inter milan . The lad may not be a world beater but he's doing something in training to impress the manager and coaches to keep picking him , heck even van basten picked him and left out robben and hunteelar and that something you don't see everyday :;):

Personal bias aside, from a skill/ability standpoint, I'd rather have Ronaldo of course... it'll help us when we play the smaller teams in the league.... In general though, he may be more trouble than his worth... but that is neither here nor there heimdall.......

The point is, Kuyt is really not doing too well in his current role, IMO. But we'll never know how good or otherwise he'll be in a conventional striker's role with a proper partner.... There are players who are more suited to a certain type/style of game and will not be able to perform to their full capabilities if they are asked to play another role. Case in point being Henry for Barcelona/France, Shevchenko for Chelsea, Veron for the mancs etc etc. I'm not comparing Kuyt's quality to the said players of course.... I think most people can see that he's a fair distance behind those 3 in terms of quality.

Utilized properly though, I feel that he will prove his worth. Maybe we should take a look at how he was deployed at his previous club.... did well there after all (dutch league notwithstanding)

I agree that he is not what we need at LFC in our current set-up......

I feel that we should be buying players to suit our system or be flexible enough in our system to suit the players that we have or buy... much easier to do that than to try and change a players attributes to suit a system most of the time.... years of training and instinct are often too ingrained to enable their games to adapt...... This is true for MOST players, imo.... there are the obvious exceptions of course... players who have been wrongly deployed by their previous clubs, players who have evolved as they grew older, players who are so talented that they can play in most any positions..... But these players are few and far between..

To a certain extent, lacking intimate knowledge of what goes on at the club and in Rafa's mind, I agree with one of the previous posts that Rafa may have had a hand in Kuyt's footballing "demise".
