Sounds like he'll bne offered a new contract until 2014 which is excellent news. Even if he's not an automatic starter next season you know that he's not the sort of guy to moan about it as he loves the club and will always give 100% in every game. Just need to get Lucas signed up now aswell.

Incidentally he's now into double figures again this season. I can't remember him ever missing a penalty either.

I can't understand why would people rather sell him than keep him at least as a backup? What, would you rather keep Maxi or Jovanovic? As much as I love Kuyt, I must agree that we need someone better to play as a winger but getting rid of him is stupid.

And now he wants an extention!! ???
He is going 2 be 33 when his contract expires.
Who in their right mind would offer him a longer contract seeing as he getting worse already...?

We need to strengthen the first team first and foremost, getting rid of Kuyt is pointless

Yeh but hes :censored: on the wing so isnt a good option as back up there. Got no problem with keeping Kuyt as a back striker but in an ideal world no matter his attitude and desire he wouldnt be in my squad. Yeh he gets vital goals but theirs plenty of big game players out there who also show up against the lesser teams.

who would you use as back up to right wing and striker should we let Dirk go?

IMO the wage bill is pretty crammed as it is and I'd rather pay a TRUSTED and ESTABLISHED player to cover both positions than two unknowns to come in and play a bit part. Dirk allows use for rotation or anything of the like should we get injuries or a new signing fail to deliver

You'd think after more than 200 appearances for the club we'd show a little more loyalty towards the guy. How can people go on about players not being loyal to their clubs when we have players like Dirk who's been here for years and has a 1 in 4 scoring ratio and call for him to leave...Loyalty is a two way process, and he's shown enough to LFC to have my respect at the very least. No way I'd let him go, unless he wanted to of course then I'd let him go
All round the fields of Anfield Road
Where once we watched the King Kenny play (and could he play!)
Stevie Heighway on the wing
We had dreams and songs to sing
'Bout the glory, round the Fields of Anfield Road

He looks a little immobile and sloppy, just doesn’t seem to look as sharp.

I never considered Kuyt "sharp" at all, just lots of energy, running around a lot. An interesting stat would be to see how many failed passes & crosses Kuyt has had per game.

The Anti Dirk comment that always makes me laugh is the one when we have a good game, he scores , we win, it's ""Well the whole team played well, Kuyt was just a part of the team."

But God forbid we lose and he's on the pitch, it's all his fault.

Selling Kuyt at this point in his career doesn't seem a good idea to me.  Could we find better for the starting XI ? Sure.  Are we able to sign that type of player without the prospect of European Football?  Maybe.  Will we be able to sign two players that can play RM,RW, Up front or off the striker, who will be a solid citizen if not getting games, and work his :censored: off when he does get in?  No.

I believe Kuyt, in the next couple of years, will be a very valuable member of the squad not only from what he brings on the pitch.  The dedication to the cause and his work habits are something that can be a great motivator for the other players of great quality we are hoping come to LFC.

I won't celebrate Rafa going........ but I will be over the moon if Dalglish comes in. League within 2 years if he gets the job, AND YOU CAN QUOTE ME ON THAT.

Hey it's nice to have a scape goat for all our problems  :D

But seriously Kuyt won't win any competitions for his showing off his skill on the ball.

Skill isnt the bee all and end all of a footballer . There are other qualities which are just as important .
