I would even advocate dropping carra at the moment and bringing in the greek instead .

Johnson         Carra/Greek       Agger         Konchesky

Kuyt                           Cole                    Jovanovic

If we can get them all out playing more often then i think we will see a massive improvement.

that is a frickin' awesome team.

if only we could string a few games together with that 11

(wishful thinking! injuries and roy will curtail that unfortunately!)

Well I was going to put aurelio in there as he is our best left back so if we include him it is a pretty strong 11 - just got to get them on the pitch all at the same time . Play that 11 and I think we could get into the top 4 but we need them playing sooner rather than later

The 7 players down the spine of that team could be regarded as world class... However, the other 4 I'm not so sure. I'd have aurelio (when fit) in there... Babel ahead of him and try Johnson on the right wing with Kelly behind him. To string a few games together with that team would do no harm to our season at the moment. I'd prefer winger who at least try to beat their man occasionally rather than cut inside  or cross from deep every time.

A chance for Babel to prove himself? Unfortunately, it'll be another run out for Maxi I fear. I wouldn't trust either of them with the derby, but Babel has shown more endeavor this year than I can remember for a long time, so he would be my pick - or the Kelly/Johnson partnership everyone keeps talking about.

how many times have Babel failed?
but Maxi isnt any better either.
sigh..... i would pick Babel though, as he has pace compared to Maxi who does nothing at all other then stand there and wait for the ball to come to him. but alot of our players are guilty of that too. there isnt any movement from us. hardly any runs to make themselves available to the player who has the ball.

This is very bad news for us. Kuyt is just the type of player we desperately need in the derby - energetic and willing to fight 'till death for the shirt. Furthermore he's done good against that lot on more than one occasion, and they'd be very watchful of him. Indeed very bad news :(.

Isn't this the second time Kuyt's been injured on international duty this season? If he's out long term, can we get compensation from the Dutch Football Association?

I would play Johnson in his place because he's a :censored: defender.

Ouch, only just saw a video clip of him landing on that ankle.

Here's wishing our ironman the best in his recovery !
