I'm against the appointment as it smacks of settling for second best. Why let Rafa leave and pay him £6m if we're going to replace him with Hodgson? As far as I'm concerned it's a waste of money and not the right appointment.

If and when he gets the job he proves himself to be a success then i'll eat humble pie. I for one find it sad that this club has fallen to such a level where the fans are happy to consider players like Zamora as good options. 3 seasons ago we were in the Champions League final. It's depressing.

I don't think anyone has said they'd settle for players like Zamora.

In actual fact many Reds have already done that, N'Gog, Lucas and Insua etc.

May I ask why?

Out of curiosity.

probably something to do with the fact he's a decent manager.

Anyone accepting Hodgeson as our new manager is accepting mediocracy, he will be here for one reason alone, and thats because he will say feck all to the board when Gerrard & Torres get sold next month.
There is no-one anywhere in the world at any stage who is any bigger or any better than this football club.

Kenny Dalglish 1/2/2011

"decent", not "exceptional", "outstanding", "excellent" or even "very good", but "decent" - is that good enough?!?!

Lads,

"Woy In",
"Owners Out",
"New owners In",
"Woy Out",
"Proper manager In".

You can probably sing it to 'Do the hokey kokey and turn around...'  if you try hard enough.   :blues:

Hodgson has been selected simply to oust Dalglish from the Club ,its no surprise that Kenny has lost serious face in all this farce, and his position at the Club has been severely compromised with him being publicly undermined ..... the b@stards at the club have been deceitfully clever in this action  :(  If Hodgson gets the position there is no place for Kenny especially with him being a man of high morals his importance at Liverpool Fc has been  to say the very least extremely  diluted
The board are manipulating people like Chess pieces with little respect for reputation or their standing in this once great community and this is the reason why Hodgson has been used as a mere pawn ............. and why he will never be accepted as the fans choice ( and for this I genuinely feel for the man ) but I feel for Kenny more ???
Its no surprise the owners feel the need to remove anyone with serious links with the club ,people who have contributed greatly to our illustrious past will only make decisions based on the heart and in the owners grand scheme of things this will not do .....

if the owners want to sell those guys then they will do it regardless of who the manager is.
As for mediocracy...does no one remember Dalglish's time in charge of Newcastle and Celtic?

I just can't believe people would even 'accept' Woy as a good enough manager for this club. Might as well go for fat sam. I'd copy and paste in Woy's "honours" from wikipedia, but the bit under Halmstads looks fecked. But you can glean he won some trophies in Sweden in the 70s, 80s and most recent success was around 00/01 when he won trophies in Denmark. While his LMA award was farcical and is mickey mouse, it could almost be more prestigious than trophies in Sweden and Denmark!  After all he supposedly did a better job as a manager than whiskeynose, double winner Ancelotti and 'arry who got spudz to their highest finish in the Premiership - in a top European league

he'll be a better option than trying to turn the clock back and bring in Kenny.
