New Manager - Who would you have? (merged thread)

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

There is no way we can afford to pay to get another manager so expect the manager to be the cheapest option ie someone unemployed - welcome to Anfield Mark Hughes or Klinsmann , Goodbye to Gerrard , Torres , Masher and maybe even Pepe when one of those two arrive .

fans like you are just what we need lol

We'll be fine, if they wanna peave us in the lurch then we dont want them anyway.

Give the players a bit of respect, they know what it means to wear the shirt, they signed for a reason, and they'll be here next season.

As for the new manager, we're LFC ffs, anynoe would wanna manage us, especially as we'll be sold by the end of the month

It's not conjecture. It's a very, very strong posibillity. We'll lose at least one of those three, and possibly all three of them. Quote me on it.

Its not conjecture, its a very strong possibility, isn;t that what conjecture is?

Tecnically, no. It's what we're now faced with having to deal with. If the two spanners think it was a great idea to axe one of the best managers in Europe after him signing a five year deal, then no one else at the club, or the players he brought in are safe. We will lose important players this summer. That is a given. Not conjecture.

couldnt agree more.

i have never dreaded a transfer season like this ever since the speculation surrounding gerrard to chelsea 5 years ago. the very fate of our club rests on who goes and who stays over the summer. the fu.cked up thing is, i dont think anyone wants to stay, save for Reina.

good ol' Pepe Reina.

Yes, the players signed for a reason, and the reason was money. You think that they care about the team?Only Carra and Gerrard MAYBE do, the others dont give a :censored: about Liverpool. You think that Torres and Mascherano care?I doubt it, it's all about the money.

I'm sorry the " were LFC anyone would want to manage us " line doesn't wash while we have those two in charge and the chances of being sold by the end of the summer IMO is zilch . That's reality dawsino and the sacking of rafa was the start of a very long awful summer with things only going to get worse . We can't afford to attract a manager and a top class manager wouldn't touch us with a bargepole at present . All the talk months ago from people was " managers would queue up to manage us "  well I look forward to seeing this queue - we have a vacancy open and the queue looks small

I'm not calling names, and I as well think that it will be ok.I was just trying to say that there are no loyal players, not even in our team.I dont even trust in Gerrard that much.I only think that Carra will stay no matter what... since he's got few more years until retirement and no big teams would look to sign him.

And it is fans like you that still make us believe the title is just around the corner, no matter the circumstances.

Ignorant would be a far too kind word to use... :no

Just maybe, the day it says "Liverpool goes into administration" over all the headlines you might see the light.
But I wouldn't bet on it to be honest....

We are LFC and if I close my eyes and ears hard enough, it might be 1980 again...  :no

everyone is convinced they're right but everyone has a different view, so some people are going to be very wrong. this is fact, not conjecture. until everything is settled, or proven, or declared it remains conjecture - however high the possibility of it actually happening.

torres MIGHT go, gerrard MIGHT go, mascherano MIGHT go, they MIGHT finally decided to sign me as the new left back. conjecture - nothing more, nothing less.

But you can look at the facts first and then draw conclusions instead of drawing up dreamland scenarios.

We are beeding money at a rate of £120,000/day
We have no CL football next season
We are a nice 351 million in debt
We can't afford to pay the interest on our loans without taking out new loans. And that was with CL footie...
Gerrard and Torres has stated we need 4-5 new players
No team without big investment win any trophies
The owners have not spent 1 penny that isn't loaned money
Our net spend the last 2 seasons has been around 0.

Those are all FACTS. If you fail to draw certain conclusions from those facts I claim you are living in la la land.

Well the owners created this situation now they can face up to the aftermath that is losing most of our star players.

if players left the club now it will be down to them feel that the owners dont hsve the money to buy the team that is needed.

You having a laugh?

There is a chance they might have stuck around had Rafa stayed and been allowed to spend some more money. He is after all one of the most respected managers in European football. Is that something you can say of anyone we have been linked with soon?

What happened to your "they all want to stay but want Rafa out"  :Oo:  :D

And not saying I want him, but I think there could be a decent chance the next manager could be Mark Hughes.

Just some other names: Ottmar Hitzfeld (pair of European cups and 7 german leagues spread over 2 different teams), Jupp Heynckes (couple of leagues with Bayern and the CL with Madrid), René Girard (long time French national youth manager, did well at Montpellier this season), Jean-François De Sart (been the U21 manager for Belgium since 1999, and they do well for themselves (4th in the Olympics)), Thomas Schaaf (would be a good shout, but he has been at Werder Bremen continuously since 1972;  he started coaching the youth teams in '87, but didn't retire from the 1st team until '95!  ),

Klinsmann (the owners like him), Scolari (world cup winner, maybe needed more time to adjust), Carlos Parreira (world cup winner, and should speak some english due to managing South Africa), Mircea Lucescu (been consistently good at Shakhtar for 6 years (4 leagues and a UEFA Cup) and has won league titles with 6 different teams), Juande Ramos (his good spell at Sevilla wasn't that long ago, won the league cup for Spurs, won a bunch of games for Madrid, currently available)

He was talking garbage the other day on SSN also. Woudln't want him here sorry.

who is 'he', there are like 20 names in the post

Steve Nicol

no i dont think so, i think it was made clear by the pl;ayers that to keep them the club would neded to get rid of Rafa, that has happend and they will now stay.

yep spot on  :D

(yes i do get the joke)

Lakes, c'mon.

Talk about covering all you bases. 1st you say Torres, Gerrard etc will leave because of Rafa.

Then you say if they still leave it is the owners fault...  :no
