B0llocks. They finished bottom of their group in Euro 2008. I remember it as well, they were total sh!te. Spain were the best team in Europe around the time, '07/08. Still are.

well my memory is different. I remember them needing to beat Italy to qualify, which they lost.

???  France qualified, just ahead of Scotland. France went on to prove they where in fact sh!te in the Euros. One point they got, finished bottom. Best team in the world my a'rse. There's nothing more to it.

Are you f*cking nuts?

Who would you like to see come in Emerald,Rafa has gone now by the way!!

Rafa's gone? You're sh*tting me. When did this happen?

:;):  :;):

Who then!

No preference given the state we are in so long as that manager is at least world class and not the likes of Hodgson, Hughes or O'Neil.

We will get someone out of work. A deal had to be worked out to oust rafa, paying another team compensation to replace him just wont happen. So to sum up, who is currently out of a job?

France have been dire for at least the past 4 years now. Nowhere near the team they were. Ireland should have turned them over and deserved to, and we're sh*te so that says it all.

No "top of the range" manager will join us til we get some decent owners in.

Til then.... I'd go with Carragher as player/manager with Kenny "in the background".
Bit like when Kenny took over in 85 and had Sir Bob "in the background".

Why not? We may as well have a throw of the dice.

You know what mate the way things are we could do worse, any manager we get is only there untill we are sold anyway. Unless he is a runaway success but with our owners thats unlikely.

SCOTLAND needed to beat Italy to qualify for the Euros, because France were lost their last game. Maybe i went a little overboard saying France were world beaters, but nothing takes away from the fact that McLeish did a good job. He's a good manager and perfect for a club with limited funds.

Like I said, no real preference. The likes of Lippi, Scolari, Hiddink etc will do just fine. It really doesn't matter because I don't think we can afford a top class manager anyway. I may be wrong about that, but we'll see. I stick by my stance in maintaining that it won't matter who comes in, because it'll be a "yes" man and we're going to be in no better off than last season and potentially worse as I can see Gerrard wearing a Madrid shirt come the start of the season. If we really do have to settle for a cheap alternative, which I reckon we will, then I'll have no qualms with Kenny taking over. Doesn't matter about the man's legacy now. Sure we'd all understand what he's having to deal with as Rafa had to deal with himself. For that reason I think he'd be wise to stay clear. Benitez' position was virtually untenable. The conditions which the man had to work under were a disgrace.

Scolari? Mark Hughes? Not sure who else. Probably a few more in a few weeks time as Reg said.

Its Kenny and Purslow looking for a successor so if Kenny ends up in the seat it means no one was interested.

Which makes you wonder, is a new manager urgent (next couple of weeks) or do we wait until after the world cup?

There will be LOADS of good managers interested in taking over. For starters, we have some of the world's best players and a good team. We just need fresh ideas and a fire sale with the likes of Lucas, Babel, Ngog etc.

Very valid point that...

Well we need him asap really... we want to strengthen the team so we need someone to come in and start looking at transfer targets ect... thelater we leave it we could be buggered should any big players choose to leave ect...

I dunno mate I don't really know what to think right now. Im just clutching onto the hope this was all part of a master plan for a new owner to come in and rescue us from this nightmare.
