I would have said Morris but in retrospect if Capello is shakey in the England job, snap him up asap. He would relish the challenge I'm sure.

Isn't he staying on until after the next Euros? Sure I read something in the paper this morning about that.

Agree with Van Gaal but why would he leave Bayern after one very successful season. It's a non-starter.

Marcelo Lippi is my first choice and a much more realistic one. He's stepping down from the Italian job (did you like that :D ) after the WC, not sure why Inter aren't in for him but he's got the experience and :censored: to beat us back into shape.

What about a Daglish, Carra partnership? Kenny with the experience Carra with the hunger?

I'd have MON as well. He's done well with Leicester and Celtic and reasonably with Villa.

But the football is still important Igor lad. It's the shocking season we've just had that has put our already precarious financial position into even greater focus due to the huge loss of earnings being out of Europe will cause. And if we finally get new owners in 6-8 months time then it's crucial the club/team is in half-decent shape where it matters most when that happens, and that's on the pitch.

By the looks of it we need a bit of a miracle worker who can come in and do a salvage job with not a lot of money and most likely without some of our best players. With that in mind, I think this appointment matters a great deal.

seriously fella, change the fecking record. Every single post you make says the same thing. We get the message.

back to the manager debate, i think Alex Mcleish is worth a shout. He understand the British game, has done wonders on a limited budget and also has international experience. I reacon he would steady the ship and point us into the right direction again.

All round the fields of Anfield Road
Where once we watched the King Kenny play (and could he play!)
Stevie Heighway on the wing
We had dreams and songs to sing
'Bout the glory, round the Fields of Anfield Road

We've got a continental team, we probably need a continental coach. Hiddink is my first choice, if not him then I am not sure.

i think he would. Look at what he's done with Birmingham. He even made Scotland look good, beating France in the process.

How can you say that mate? In 6 to 8 months we could have potentially lost Gerrard, Torres and Mascherano. And to be honest if the club is in a bad way then it will probably be sold quicker. Not saying for a minute encourage the sale of are star players but at this point with this 15mil figure being banded around it's hard to see them staying.

We won't get a miracle worker mate we will get a yes man who doesn't mind not having anything to spend. How many miracle workers are there even in the game? Wenger is good at balancing the books but when did they win anything recently? Can't think of too many more besides him tbh. Anyone who has won anything in the last 10 years has done so with financial muscle at their disposal. It's something we don't have right now and the focus needs to be on that. Anything else is pointless.

I'm suprised none of you have entertained the thought of Roy Hodgeson. He is a fantastic manager in my opinion. Very tacticly sound, A great man manager who is loved by his players and if he can take Fulham from perennial relegation dodgers to a European final then imagine what he could do with a club the size of Liverpool.

Don't think because the name isn't as Glam as Mourinho or Capello he isn't the real deal because he is. He would be great at Anfield and being asked to manage at a club like Liverpool would be too good an offer for him to refuse. He would go regardless of the financial restrictions. I'm not sure the likes of Van Gaal, Hiddink Lippi etc necessarily would

I hope you sort it out soon though fellas. As i've already said in another part of the forum. A strong Liverpool can only be goodfor the competition of English football.
