Aye lad! Ban Him! Mods?

Seriously!? Alex McLeish!?
It's the dumbest idea i've heard since my mate suggested driving with our eyes closed in the middle of the night on acid when i was seventeen.

There will be LOADS of good managers interested in taking over. For starters, we have some of the world's best players and a good team. We just need fresh ideas and a fire sale with the likes of Lucas, Babel, Ngog etc.

Maybe i went a little overboard saying France were world beaters, but nothing takes away from the fact that McLeish did a good job. He's a good manager and perfect for a club with limited funds.

But the football is still important Igor lad. It's the shocking season we've just had that has put our already precarious financial position into even greater focus due to the huge loss of earnings being out of Europe will cause. And if we finally get new owners in 6-8 months time then it's crucial the club/team is in half-decent shape where it matters most when that happens, and that's on the pitch.
By the looks of it we need a bit of a miracle worker who can come in and do a salvage job with not a lot of money and most likely without some of our best players. With that in mind, I think this appointment matters a great deal.
How can you say that mate? In 6 to 8 months we could have potentially lost Gerrard, Torres and Mascherano. And to be honest if the club is in a bad way then it will probably be sold quicker. Not saying for a minute encourage the sale of are star players but at this point with this 15mil figure being banded around it's hard to see them staying.
We won't get a miracle worker mate we will get a yes man who doesn't mind not having anything to spend. How many miracle workers are there even in the game? Wenger is good at balancing the books but when did they win anything recently? Can't think of too many more besides him tbh. Anyone who has won anything in the last 10 years has done so with financial muscle at their disposal. It's something we don't have right now and the focus needs to be on that. Anything else is pointless.

For half of that campaign Walter Smith managed them (incl. another victory over France). But yes, he did a good job there nevertheless and has done so wherever he's been. Thing is, though, most of the candidates in consideration can boast a lot more than that. O'neill for instance with his various promotions, cup wins and consistent mid-table finishes at Liecester, title & cup wins and a UEFA cup final at Celtic and the very solid job he's done at Villa.
I think Lippi boasts the most impressive record; 5 serie 'A' titles, 1 UCL + 3 x RU, UEFA cup, Italian cup, World cup. Plus he's available on a free after the WC. I do find it hard to imagine him with us though as he's never managed outside of Italy, doesn't speak English and is getting on a bit, but then again I found it hard to imagine Trappatoni in the Ireland job.

Scolari? Mark Hughes? Not sure who else. Probably a few more in a few weeks time as Reg said.
Which makes you wonder, is a new manager urgent (next couple of weeks) or do we wait until after the world cup?
Well we need him asap really... we want to strengthen the team so we need someone to come in and start looking at transfer targets ect... thelater we leave it we could be buggered should any big players choose to leave ect...
I dunno mate I don't really know what to think right now. Im just clutching onto the hope this was all part of a master plan for a new owner to come in and rescue us from this nightmare.

Anyway I'm going for Carra and Kenny. With Sammy Lee. And bringing back Phil Thompson. With Toshack in the background. And maybe Barnes. And Nicol. And Steve Staunton! And feckin' Souness....ha ha ha! Feckin' hell!

If you had the engine switched off, that might have been a laugh.
