Great manager, doing a good job with limited resources at Ireland, but not a hope-he doesn't need the stress at his age.

I'm sure if come up with the same package as the Irish...Guiness and more Guiness, we are in with a shout :eyebrow  :eyebrow

B0llocks. They finished bottom of their group in Euro 2008. I remember it as well, they were total sh!te. Spain were the best team in Europe around the time, '07/08. Still are.

well my memory is different. I remember them needing to beat Italy to qualify, which they lost.

No "top of the range" manager will join us til we get some decent owners in.

Til then.... I'd go with Carragher as player/manager with Kenny "in the background".
Bit like when Kenny took over in 85 and had Sir Bob "in the background".

Why not? We may as well have a throw of the dice.

didn't Celtic try that with Barnes and Daglish?

Ended in disaster

Very tacticly sound, A great man manager who is loved by his players and if he can take Fulham from perennial relegation dodgers to a European final then imagine what he could do with a club the size of Liverpool.

Don't thinkbecause the name isn't as Glam as Mourinho or Capello he isn't the real deal because he is.

I hope you sort it out soon though fellas. As i've already said in another part of the forum. A strong Liverpool can only be goodfor the competition of English football.

No :censored: thanks mate. Steve McLaren got to a European final, and just won the league in Holland. But I would still not want him anywhere near the club... unless he was watching a match like.

Im not really bothered if the name is glam but I want someone established and proven so chances are if they fit that bill their name will be glam anyway.

Sorry mate. Just edited my orignal post. Forgot to add the point that even though Pool are a huge club. With the financial restrictions in place and no guarantee of keeping your best players. Then i'm not sure the likes of Van Gall, Hiddink, Lippi etc would jump at the chance like Hodgson would.

I really think he would do a good job given the chance with the decent players you have even if you lose the likes of Torres, Gerrard, Mascherano etc. Then when the leeches are finaly gone and you are being run properly again he could build a very decent team.

No worries mate.

When the leeches go...

That's all im thinking about mate. Need to get them out 1 way or another.....  In any case I think if we lost those players another season outside the top 4 would cut the valuation by several hundred million.

I think you guys just need to keep your chins up and remember who you are.

Sure it's worrying when you look at what those two scum bags are doing to you. Then think about the likes of Leeds, Forrest etc..
But you're way more than that. You're Liverpool for gods sake.

12 months from now i predict you may well have finished another season outside the top 4. But the leeches will be gone. Your financial situation will be a lot healthier. And IF you get Hodgson then you will have a top class manager who can rally his players, Knows good football, is loved and respected by everyone, will probably have a few bob to spend and you will start to build again.

Just keep the faith guys. It will be fine in the long run. Just look at us. a decade ago we where in the 3RD TIER of English football. But we always knew who we were and we always kept the faith. Now with an increadible stroke of luck we are bought by a guy who owns a third of the worlds oil reserves and is determined to turn us into the most powerfull force in football no matter what it costs.

You just never know what will happen in football. And you guys are only in as bad a situation as your very high standards tell you you are. It's a milliion miles away from being irreversable.

I have a feeling it will be someone like Sven. I mean these 2 tried to sound out Klinsman ffs, I know there is Purslow in charge but he doesn't seem to be on our side either.

Yea, Barnes was a disaster mate.

It may be a little too early for Carragher aswell; but we could get proper fecked by the yanks this Summer.

We need to wait and see what happens during the summer regarding players first. If we lose our top players then we can probably take that as a good sign that we wont be forking out for a top manager.
