Let Rafa get on with doing what he does best, coaching, and leave the signing of players to someone who is good at it. Rafa has surrounded himself with "yes men" since the two Paco's left. We need someone that he WILL LISTEN TO.  No matter how good or bad you are as a manager there are always times when someone needs to stand up and say I think you are wrong...... something I don't think happens anymore at Liverpool, at least not without being moved on rather quickly.

Maybe I really am getting to old for this sh'it, cliches I understand even though they don't actually enlighten me .

Maybe you could add a bit more substance ?

we should bring in a director of football (Dalglish or equivolent)

What does a director of football actually do ? does he vet/oversee all the managers decisions ? (Can you see any self respecting manager living with that ?)   and why Dalglish ? if Dalglish fails to fit the template who are the (sic)
"... equivolent"
  alternatives ?

???

A director of football deals with all transfers, and is there to offer support, assistance and advice when required. Obviously the role varies from club to club, but most clubs are slowly moving to appointing them now.

No, as far as I am aware , their job is not to oversee the managers decisions, but to offer advice and support (when asked), with their main role being part of the old C.E.O role to deal with all transfers. The difference being they have a football background rather than a mainly financial one.

Frank Arnesen off Chelsea was probably the most famous and successful in this country.

Avram Grant was another at Portsmouth before becomiing Manager I believe.

Juve have just appointed Beppe Marotta

Try google for more.

I think Dalglish would be good at the job which is a pretty good reason. He has always had an interest in kids (not the perv kind), good in the transfer market at spotting young talent. Knows the pressures of being a manager, and has already done the job both at Blackburn and Celtic.

Whether you want Rafa here next season or not is worthy of debate BUT "Slags the club off blah blah blah" has lost me

Explain

ok so the word slags might be a bit strong, but talking negative about the clubs set up  and the way he spoke about his contract did not go down well with me, there are some thing i think is the manager responsibility to keep out of the press.

come on, Rafa can not be the manager here next year, he is two faced and slags the club off to the press all the time.

I for one will be glad if he stays. He's a top manager and deserves the respect of the fans. Ok so he made some mistakes but I don't think we would be able to get as good a manager if he went.

We look to be signing some promising homegrown youngsters now all he needs is to be able to spend whatever he brings in, maybe give him 25mil on top of that and we can try and get 4th place next season.

Not necessarily disagreeing with you Lakes BUT so I (and others) fully understand where you're coming from, can you supply some examples that add substance to your comment

I know and it gets under my skin too but we don't have that sort of money to be able to compete on that level now.

I don't think we did manage it last season. Last season we were luckier than this season with injuries so our strength in depth was never tested. This season it was exposed and there for all to see.
