LIVERPOOL v's Manchester United 18.01.20  4.30pm

Liverpool Football Club - Games

Postby Reg » Fri Jan 17, 2020 2:07 am

Great opportunity for the Reds to show ManU how times have changed and they're on the rocks.

Liverpool played 21, won 20, drawn 1 (against United at OT) Lost 0, 61 points
United played 22, won 9, drawn 7, lost 6. Points 34.

Marcus Rashford left the field midweek after coming on as sub against Wolves - doubtful for this game? Below par if started?
United are without their two first-choice midfielders Scott McTominay and Paul Pogba (out til end next month) and their best defender Harry Maguire is playing with a hip muscle tear.
United have just sold Ashley Young yesterday for £1.3m.
Only David De Gea and Phil Jones are left who've won the Premier League.

Seems to me United sold their old squad and the replacements have failed to replace them. Now these lads are moving on or frequently injured putting the rest of the team and club under self inflicted pressure.

United have paid a fortune to put together 2 failing teams and need to to buy a third if they're to regain their mojo.
Again if you look at their nett transfer spend in the last 5 years alone (414 million) against the value of their squad you see how poorly they've spent their money. Long may it continue. Ole is half in, half out, few have confidence in his long term ability to do the job, he loses the big games then wins against the small clubs and lives week by week. Marvellous as it adds to fan misery.

They're weak up front, weak at the back and their 2 best midfielders are injured. Perfect.

Let's beat these barstools 4-0.   :buttrock  :buttrock

Utd are Utd, they'll find an extra gear for a game against us. It's going to be our hardest game at home for 2 years. However if we're gonna beat 'em I want to beat 'em good style. Whiskey nose will be sat in the stands no doubt so there's no better way to salute him by sticking 4 or 5 past the shower of *****. We are right back on our perch and Utd are scratching around in the seed tray again.

Destroy them!

I honestly don’t care what happens as long as we pick up 3 points. I agree that they’ll be up for it but is there anybody that thinks we won’t be. Kloppo will have them tuned to the max. THIS IS OUR TIME !!!

You reckon Fab will start? I think he'll be on the bench and maybe come in the second half.

Confident we’ll win...it seems everytime ole opens his mouth these days he makes some snide remark about us, so I’m hoping for a good thrashing. 5-0

With city drawing at home against palace this game has just taken on Galactic proportions- win (and we absolutely MUST to put the draw at Old Toilet to bed forever) and
we will be ....wait for it...

SIXTEEN points ahead of City with a game in hand. The momentum we will gain will steamroller wolves in our next game too I would say.

As always, it's difficult not to get ahead of ourselves but this really could be the final nail in City's coffin this season.

As much as we all want to smash these f**kers 5-0 the fact that City threw away more points means this game is pretty much it. We must win this! In the 95th minute, an own goal, off someone’s *****, who cares just win it!

A win here, by any means possible and we really can start rubbing the inevitable into the faces of both red and blue filth for the next 3 or 4 months.

I can’t wait to be an unbearable.  :buttrock

Have a great one mate !! I guess you had to suffer quite a few United fans on the flight. Mind you they are a lot quieter these days for some unknown reason   My mate and his daughter who are United supporters have got tickets in the middle of the Kenny Dalglish stand. I just hope it is a day they can remember for all the wrong reasons

This is it. If we win this, it'll taka a midtable form from us until the end of the season for City or anyone else to overtake us. The mancs will know this too however, and they'll surely turn up for this game.

I'm thinking 3-0 to us.
