Mignolet - 6 - not at fault for any of the goals
Can - 4 - really poor today, playing him out of position was half the problem though
Skrtel - 5 - poor as well I thought
Sakho - 5 - not his best game either, bullied like a little kid for their second goal
Clyne - 6
Lucas - 8 - one of our better performers today, broke up play at least a dozen times
Milner - 8 - credit where it's due, scored a good goal, made a good assist and worked his socks off
Moreno - 7 - always a threat going forward
Coutinho - 7 - didn't like him today but had two assists so... the one for Sturridge's second was class
Ings - 6
Sturridge - 8 - half fit but still almost scored a hat-trick. God we need him to stay fit this season.

Newkit player of the month SEPTEMBER

Games:

Manchester United (A)
Bordeaux (A)
Norwich (H)
Carlisle United (H)
Aston Villa (H)

Candidate:                        Rating:                   Games played:

Mamadou Sakho                     6.4                         3
Alberto Moreno                      6.3                         4
Lucas Leiva                            5.9                         3
Danny Ings                             5.8                         5 (started 3)
Daniel Sturridge                     6.9                         2

And the winner is..........    DANIEL STURRIDGE. Although he played only 2 games, he played in the one game that mattered this month and it was his performance that raised the hopes up again. It was a dreadful month for us, so Sturridge's comeback and performance against Villa is the only positive we can gather.

Says a lot when four of the five candidates are rated at below 6.5 and two of them rated below 6  :down:

Hate to think how the flops did

Kazza I think much depends on how we interpret the scores we give.

I normally give points as follows.

1= Terrible
2= Bad
3= Very Poor
4= Poor
5= Fair (Average)
6= Good
7=Very Good
8= Excellent
9= Outstanding
10= Brilliant

If we accept that as a template and round up/down the decimal points then it follows that four of the contenders were rated as good with one other (Sturridge) rated as very good.

Disappointing perhaps but given how the team has sometimes performed overall it could have looked a lot worse, I am surprised to see that Coutinho didn't make the top 5.

P.S.

Thanks again Damjan, good work mate.

LIVERPOOL V SION

MINGOLET - 6 made a couple of good saves and couldn't really be blamed for the goal
CLYNE - 4 gave the ball away that led to their goal and passed it sideways and backwards most of the time
TOURE - 5 did okay
CAN - 5 got better as the game wore on
GOMEZ - 5 one or two nervy moments but did okay
IBE - 4 he's going through a tough patch, he can't seem to do anything right atm
ROSSITER - 6 worked hard
ALLEN - 6 f[uc]ked up once or twice but still one of our better players on the night
LALLANA - 6 scored a goal but missed a sitter, like Allen though one of our better performers on the night
ORIGI - 5 great work leading up to the goal and some good build up play but missed at least 3 great chances
INGS - 5 worked hard but missed a couple of good chances himself

MINGOLET - 6 - One great save.
CLYNE - 5 - Another sub-par game ,lost the ball which lead to the goal and again didn't support the attacking efforts.
TOURE - 5 - Ok
CAN - 5  - Too much fuss again ,should take it down a notch ,should be rested.
GOMEZ - 5 Still can't find what makes this young lad special.
IBE - 3 - What happened to the exciting lad of last year? ,can't do anything right so predictable and inefficient
ROSSITER - 6 Very accurate ,very tidy but Zero impact on getting the ball forward ,too slow.
ALLEN - 7 thought he was the better player today ,involved ,accurate with some good deep passing.
LALLANA - 6 Disappeared a bit in the last third of the game ,till then looked one level above the rest. So much talent.
ORIGI - 6 ,for trying working hard but hey young man you are paid to score ,doesn't look composed at all in front of goal
INGS - 5 ,Worked hard but failed on his main task.

MINGOLET - 5 not much to do but just as well.
CLYNE - 4 sloppy and another that will take a nosedive under mighty manager.
TOURE - 4 barely involved and looked wrecked coming off. Can't believe he got a new contract and llori pushed out the door.
CAN - 5 better towards the end but some poor stuff also.
GOMEZ - 5 did alright.
IBE - 4 the lad took a few steps forwards with derby but has backtracked alarmingly under mighty manager.
ROSSITER - 5 don't see the hype myself. Tidy with the 5 yd passes but lacks the power to impose himself on the game.
ALLEN - 4 a point for each year he has been here.
LALLANA - 5 fairy
ORIGI - 5 poor enough.
INGS - 5 as above.

MINGOLET - 5
CLYNE - 4 Exposed as a WB ,but aren't they all.
TOURE - 3 Finished at this club as a relevant CB.
CAN - 5 At least he looked arsed which is a massive plus these days.
GOMEZ - 3
IBE - 4 Every game he is involved in brings home how ridiculous a decision it was to send Markovic away
ROSSITER - 4 We have much more equipped young players.
ALLEN - 4 Shies away from all defensive responsibility with the art of an experienced pro.
LALLANA - 5 Fragile ,Flimsy and full of fear .
ORIGI - 6 Tried hard and showed some excellent movement ,but no end product.
INGS - 5 Will get more ordinary with every game ,as eventually most strikers do under this manager.
