Looks like once again we wont be getting what we want.
The first 5 games of the season are VERY tough and if Roy cant handle it... people will be very upset with him quickly.

why is it disgrace IF Roy gets the job?

lets look at the facts....how many real games has kenny won over the last few years?

it is a good point that some are making that Kenny has not done the job for years.

yes i would love him to be our manager again but i think it should only be to bed the new manager in.
Kenny should only get the job if he is going to have someone like JC to teach the job to.

we need a fire fighter manager right now and thats what ROY is.

I am not saying he is the best person for the job but he fits what we need right now.

I just don't see what he has ever done to deserve even been mentioned for the job.

I know he took Fulham to the Europa League final but thats not as great as people think. Celtic played in the final a few years back too.  And if you ask me, Fulham got the easier part of the draw in that competition. (except for Juve).

4 away wins in 2 seasons, leaving Blackburn with them bottom of the table.

i will admit that he generally takes sh.ite teams and makes them slightly better but id like us to show a bit more ambition.

If he is appointed, i see Torres and Gerrard leaving.  And he'll have no money to spend.  Looks like top 6 will be our target then..

but isnt that how it is? with Spurs being the Champions League and being able to attract players...and City having loads of money to spend, and then you have Villa. we have 3 teams better then us plus another 3 teams competing with us for the 4th spot.

yeah you're right but i personally think there are some other candidates for the job that would be better.

i think the likes of kenny or pelligrini would unite the fans a lot more.  You can see people on this board getting excited when pellegrini or kenny are mentioned. That might also translate to the stadium on match day. I think it might be similar for our players too.

And just maybe, a top manager could push us towards 4th.  But sadly i dont think Roy will be that man.  Although id love if he achieved it and i will support him if he gets the job.  id just prefer if he didnt.

'we need a fire fighter manager right now and thats what ROY is.'

That's absolute sh----ite ; we need some inspiration at this time. Roy  Hod isn't one bit inspirational.

At least the Pelligrini's and Hietzfelds of this world demand respect from their players

Surely we haven't wait this long to only be told its Roy Hod, I mean is anyone working at that club or what

I've heard reports that we've been talking to Pellegrini aswell? Is this true because for me if that's the case it's a no brainer (and that's coming from somebody who likes Roy Hodgson aswell).

With Pellegrini there's also the advantage of not having to pay any compensation. Does he speak English does anybody know?

Former Villarreal and Real Madrid manager Manuel Pellegrini is in discussions with Liverpool, his representative has confirmed.

The Chilean boss has been out of work since being sacked by Madrid at the end of last season after failing to guide them to the title in La Liga or reach the latter stages of the Champions League.

Reports in England on Thursday stated that Pellegrini was a serious candidate to take over from Rafael Benitez at Liverpool, and his agent has now revealed that there is indeed more to it than just paper talk.

"We are evaluating the move and will soon have a new meeting to better establish the details of this deal," Marco Piccioli told The Sun.

Kenny Dalglish, who is working with the Reds' academy, and Fulham boss Roy Hodgson are the other two serious candidates to assume the reins at Anfield.

But the emergence of Pellegrini as a candidate is an intereresting development. The popular feeling was that the Reds would opt for a British manager after the Gerard Houllier and Benitez tenures, and both Hodgson and Dalglish appeared to be front-runners.

Pellegrini earned much kudos for his stewardship of Villarreal, and some sympathy for the way his spell at the Bernabeu was ended.

Yes, I believe he speaks fluent English (or English fluently). Best check my grammar in case Pellegrini is reading this  :)

I would prefer Pellegrini to Roy Hodgson. And tbh Pellegrini  may be the best we can get at the moment (assuming those that ruled themselves out dont come back into the frame)

BUT, just playing devils advocate: Pellegrini spent €252 Million in one season at Madrid... and still didn't win anything. (didn't even make the 1/4s in the champions league and went out in the first round of the copa-del-rey).
