ok here is one for you guys, kuyt scored. i feel the keeper made a mistake. that any other keeper would have done better. if THAT type of goal was scored against us, would u blame the keeper, or would u think that it was a good strike?

Great question and yes, we'd be cursing the keeper - certainly not praising the opposition player for getting a slightly iffy shot on target.

so can i say that that was a lucky goal by Kuyt?

Only if I can add the word "slightly" in before it just to give a bit of balance?

i feel most keepers would have saved it. Kuyt doesnt know how to shoot. i cant remember who it was against but in some game recently he had 2 clear chances but opted to shoot at the keeper. and just like the goal last night, he shot at the keeper.

good job for winning the ball and being hardworking but as far as im concerned his finishing s(u)c(k)s.

Yeh, I've mentioned earlier that I disagree with somebody who suggests his strength is his shooting - it's not, and he almost always looks for the pass first even when he's in a better position to shoot than anyone.

Its opinions at the end of the day and everyone is allowed one but they certainly dont need someone like you insulting pretty much the majority of the forum and saying they dont know what they are talking about ? Are you a football manager of high quality proving your right day in day out ? What team do you coach to a high standard and what trophies have they won ?

1. Yes fodne i have played football to a decent standard . 2. Who else was chasing down the player or the ball ? Would you rather that player was left with space and time to pick out a pass going forward as opposed to going to left back ? Kuyt chased down left back centre back as did keane and torres . Ie they all worked together to put pressure onto the opposition . Kuyt did the same chasing in the manc game and every other game . Also max yes the keeper may of done better but to be honest i couldnt care as we scored and thats all that matters to me . Keeper made a great save from torres and kuyt followed up with a shot on target , goal scored one nil up in the first 5 mins . Job done .

The critisism comes from the fact that Kuyt would hit that shot the same way 9/10 times and it would be saved by most keepers. He misses those chances far to often and when he does score them its luck rather than skill.

The fact that it was a lucky goal sums him up.

Had Torres hit that shot, you know he'd have been lucky too, but you know next time he'd smash it into the roof of the net. Kuyt would probably hit the same shot against Cech who wouldn't make the same mistake.

But obviously all this is lost on you...

umm isnt the basic concept of the game to get the ball into the back of the net ? Didnt kuyt do that ? There is only the top class players that do everything to high standard ie torres gerrard messi etc . No one has said kuyt is like that . And you must of watched a different game to many people last night ? Lots of gaps ? I didnt say many ? Slagging him of for chasing down the ball and players ? What next ?

Ok, well heres an example for you. If I've got the ball and I'm in the centre of the pitch and I see the right sided player come running towards me I'd look straight away for my left back or left winger knowing for a fact one of them would be free. If I couldn't actually make the pass I'd look to realease it to a player who could get the ball into that position as thats where the space is.

That happened 5 or 6 times last night as Kuyt went mindlessly chasing the ball infield and they picked him off. Had a better player been receiving the ball then they would have used the space alot better.

Now in football, alot of circumstances lead to goals, now if you give a player like Evra that kind of space, he'll step on the accelerator and run at your team causing it to lose shape, chances are he'll play a pass... to someone like Rooney or Tevez or Ronaldo then bang, you're 1-0 down and chasing the game.

Against the best sides, its little details like that, that cost you points, goals, possession and everything else. Now, if you don't pick up on them and eradicate them against the lesser teams, then you're going to get punished when you play the better sides.

Football is about more than just running around alot. A hell of a lot more.

look im not the only one having a pop at you here.

kuyt may not be the worlds best striker never mind right winger. but he is our first choice right sided midfielder by the looks of things. I am not happy that this is the case, id much rather have ronaldo running past people every week, but thats the situation.

Im sure kuyt doesnt wana play right wing and necause of this i commend him because every game he works his balls off for the good of the club, team, FANS.... not only that but he does some good things for the team, he creates good speace for gerrard torres keane to work some magic, and he doesnt do to bad himself.

Just lay off him and give credit where credit is due... and if you dont thinks its due dont blast on about how he is.... just give some decent comments, inciteful comments, as you have been doing... with all that professinal footballing knowledge u seem to have
