Don't think he'll be ready for Chelsea. I've just heard that he has returned to his old danish club Brøndby to have their doctor (who is a foot and knee specialist) examine him, in a bid to get over this injury, which keeps nagging him for some reason.

Seriously - where is this guy? Did we not expect him back about 2 weeks ago?

I'm not too sure he'll play against City. Rafa stated that they may have to use him because of other injuries and illness, but it does sound a bit as if he would rather not risk him just yet. But just the fact that he's at least back in contention must mean that we'll see him sooner rather than later... hopefully  :)

It looks like Agger could be back for the Man City game, if Hyppia does not recover.  I hope it's not too soon for him.  If he's not fully healed yet I'd rather see Hobbs starting.

Agreed. I really wouldn't like to see a recurrence of the injury as with Alonso against Arsenal (though Agger has been out a lot longer, so maybe they've learned from the Alonso experience). We need him completely fit for the second half of the season, especially if Rafa isn't allowed to bring in another backup. That being said the greatest thing would just be for him to get back against City and have no problems at all (maybe even score the winner  :p )

if hyypia and agger don't make it, i'd be happy to see arbeloa fitting in there. i just don't see rafa throwing hobbs in for a game of such importance.

mind you those who are dreading the thought of hobbs playing should just be grateful for what we've got. in the past we were playing the likes of biscan and diao at centre back aweay against valencia. :D

What do you mean "what am I drinking" ??? Doesn't it make sense to you what I've written? I just think that we shouldn't play him unless he's as completely ready for it as he can be after 3 ½ months out, but I hope that he proves to be just that fit and therefore will play. No need to rush him though, if it means he'll be out for another long spell. In that case I'd go with someone else instead (Arbeloa if not still sick) - even Hobbs.

Don't joke, only takes an injury to Carra and we're down to bone marrow let alone bare bones. While the wins percentage is similar in games Hyypia, Carragher and Agger have played, Agger has played in a significantly greater number of games Liverpool have kept clean sheets. And by significant I mean as significant a difference as you'll get given the variability of opposition (anyone can keep a clean sheet against say Derby - or maybe not!)

Has Agger had kids yet, maybe his kid will be old and good enough to partner Carra's kid in defence when Rafa's set fair for his first serious title challenge!

Where the bloody hell is Agger for gods sake? Carra is one booking away from a one match ban and with injuries to Aurelio, Arbeloa and hyypia we certainly are down to the bare bones.
There is no-one anywhere in the world at any stage who is any bigger or any better than this football club.

Any news on Agger yet?  I'm starting to get worried about him.  It seems like he has a really serious problem.  I heard that his bone did not heal properly.

I just hope this injury does not screw him up.  He has so much potential.

Thank god for that.  Especially after I posted that he might be crocked!
Our job is simple, to support the club, not just parts of the club that are easy to support, but every one who plays a part, that includes ALL players.  We are stronger when we are all walking in the same direction. Walk On
