forget about maureen, hiddink no way in hell with the :censored: at the helm, oh mark hughes is free do you wanna sing his name from the stands

rafa has made mistakes, but he is the best out there and genuinely has the club at his heart. with no money and the axe above him he has kept the clubs dignity above the sh!t , if not the standard of play this season, but 12 months ago we were destroying teams for fun, no one called for his head then.

"Rafa is the best out there", please back that up somehow.

I can think of many many managers who are far better than Rafa.

It is a wonder though that the "greatest manager in the world" came to us in 2005, I wonder why that happened then but wouldn't happen now. Did we have more money available back in 2005 perhaps?

If Rafa is the best out there then we REALLY are in trouble. He has spent over £200million and 6 years to take us from 4th place to fighting for..... fourth place.

He has told players not to sign new contracts until he has, fallen out with most people he comes in contact with. Won nothing for 4 years and we regularly struggle against the minnows of the lower divisions in the domestic cups.

His only saving grace was in Europe and even that has deserted him now.

Best there is ?   I could pick quite a few who could get us 7th place in the league mate.  :D

With the greatest of respect to both you and Kenny, he´s not got the strong mentality needed for the job any more. Rather like KK, he was a manager for a less stressful period of our club, he´s not the front man to take all the abuse and pressure (from this forum...) any more.

To drag us up and win the league, we need a young, inspired leader.

Dalglish as a caretaker manager is a much more realistic choice than mourinho... I for one would like to see what he can achieve with the current crop of players... he would also get the respect of the players... only one thing remains to be seen whether he himself would want the job if Rafa goes....

And you know this how ? He had to suffer through Hysel and Hillsbrough mate, thats the top and bottom of why he had problems. He has had a good long relaxing rest and will I am sure be relaxed and raring to go now.

If he is not .....he won't accept the job and we move on, but if he is ...... he is far and away the best man for the job.

Youth is overated mate, experience, knowledge and ability are what we need.

Sorry but that is pure speculation on your part, how do you know he wouldn't be up for the job?
Surely it is worth a try if we are forced to accept that no other manager in the whole world would like to earn £4 million a year whilst managing one of the world's most successful sporting teams, Liverpool FC.

Kenny hasn't managed at the top level for over ten years now , that's far too long away from the game IMO and also IMO he has no desire to be in that sort of stressful environment . Kenny as any sort of manager for us is pure fantasy and the dream scenario but also very unrealistic . Yes he did well for us but that was nearly 20 years ago now .

As for better managers out there than rafa - yes there is better managers but all in secure jobs they  are comfy with plus the odd one like maureen who IMO wouldn't touch us in our current situation and has also got his eyes on the manc job in England or one of the big two in Spain . Both more attractive positions for him .

Yet Gary mac has failed at both manager jobs he has had . Just because he was a great football doesn't equate to great manager . Bryan Robson is prime example of that
