In the short term (ie if it was over the next couple of weeks) then obviously it'd be Dalglish. If we really must wait until the end of the season however, our options for a new manager may be slightly reduced. It's unlikely we'll have Champions Lerague football to use as a draw, and the new manager is likely to have to move out some of the dross we've currently got before he can buy.

I like Mourinho as our new manager obviously as I very much rate his abilities in terms of getting players to play to the maximum of their potential. Getting Aquiani up to a level where he is good enough to shift the colossus that is Lucas out of the first team though may prove to be beyond even the most special of new managers. He'd be my first pick though without a doubt.

Christ almighty, you're like a needle on a broken record skipping away. And yes, we have to wait until the end of the season...or guess what, possibly even beyond that. Yeah, sounds good, right? See, Mick, in the real world of business (and we are a business now) it's ultimately up to the board and the owners if a man should move on, and not you, Heimdall, or anyone else that spat the dummy ages ago and have been banging the same tedious drum ever since. Get over yourselves. Things aren't miraculously going to get better anytime soon just because you think it should.

woah... calm down there emerald. this thread is about "if rafa left... who would you have?"

Micks just answered if he left now, then dalglish, if he left at the end of the season then mourinho. The bit of micks post you highlighted has been written by quite a few member on here - i.e.. that they think he should go sooner than the end of the season.

The point in your reply to mick is that:
in the real world of business (and we are a business now) it's ultimately up to the board and the owners if a man should move on, and not you, Heimdall, or anyone else
  right?

but you also say
And yes, we have to wait until the end of the season

dont these two sentance kinda contradict each other? If its upto the board and the owners if a man should move on, why cant he be moved on before the end of the season. It's only your opinion that he wont.

- I aint tryin to start an argument man, I just thought your post contradicted itself. tis all.

Don't waste your time mate.

It's just another premeditated response to one of Bigmick's posts by one of the usual suspects on here who stalk Mick around the boards waiting to stick the boot in...

But hey, Mick's the problem :;):

Not sure if I'm desperate but if we have new owners and new investments that can be used to buy players and that Mourinho joins us. I would sleep happy knowing that the money will be well spent and that he will eventually bring us the premiership title. As he has proven himself especially in english football.

But that is a big misconception altogether.

Mourinho got hundreds of millions in a copule of seasons net!!!

He brough players like Ferriera, Thiago, Shevshenko, Boularouz, Kezman, Shawn Right Phillips, Del Horno just to name a few and they all failed miserably.

Ferrira cost around 15!!!

But then he just got another blank check and got Drogba Essien etc.

Like Mourinho would be allowed to waste 100 million just to get the other 100 million right....

Just cause he won the title with an endless sack of gold he is some kind of messias. Just pathetic  :no

i think Mourinho is the only real option available if we really want to win trophies in the next few years. He has a proven record in winning things quickly upon arriving at a club. Just read this Premier League blog about Liverpool questioning if the club is ever going to win another title. I think put Mourinho in charge and we will have one within 2 years of him taking the helm. I know this may be seen as optimistic but i think with his track record you cannot scoff at this suggestion.

Call me when you get back from dreamland.

I'll bet anything that we won't win the title in 5 years unless the ownership situation changes.

Besides, if you are bored to death with Rafa's philosophy, why do you want Mourinho of all managers who might be the one who plays the most boring style of football ever!

And please, Mourinho wins titles fast?

So he gets a couple of hundred million right away with Chelski and then moves to the two time reigning champions in Italy with the best squad and a team even Mancini managed to win with... :no

Once again you take over a thread with your nonsense. Just go to the Mourinho thread in Premiership General Chat. The FACTS which prove you are talking utter nonsense are all in there. It's incredibly tedious when someone who knows they are talking sh!t just keeps repeating it in the hope it might one day come true. Assuming you can read, you must have at some stage read up on the subject and therefore you must KNOW you are talking b0ll0cks.

Your approach is akin to me denying Benitez won La Liga with Valencia, sitting on the ground with my fingers in my ears going lah-lah-lah-lah.

If you don't like Mourinho then fine. If you don't like his style of football, fine (both of those are fully understandable). Don't though cloud the discussion with utter sh!t, it doesn't do you or anybody else any favours.

it's really pathetic though... that despite knowing all of this there are those of us practically begging for the fellow to be our saviour...

Maureen: "Liverpool you suck!"
Liverpool: "No, Special One, pls come to us! pls come to us!"
Maureen: "No! you suck!"
Liverpool: "No no please, we beg you... come to us... we beg you"
