Meanwhile in a survey of all managers Worldwide, Neil Warnock, Glen Roeder and Christian Gross were the only ones who said they would even consider taking over at Liverpool, and even then only if they could sign anybody in the World they wanted to.

Your just miffed because he ignored your e-mails concerning Earnshaw  :D

I am a bit concerned by what Rafa said in the post match interview after the game, he said that maybe expectations were a little high.

After finishing 2nd last year I think we all expected to be going one better this year,I certainly did.

If Rafa thinks expectation were high after last season, where does he believe are place is, fighting for 3rd or 4th/5th/6th

there are reports that Rafas PA team are in meeting with Real today. the BBC are looking into if there is any truth in the reports but some Radio stations are reporting it as the truth.

I honestly doubt that Madrid would want Rafa. Doesn't Perez  dislike Rafa anyway?

The football Rafa plays is hardly in the Madrid style, and no doubt a few players would be "uncomfortable" at the thought of him being manager.

Yes his CL pedigree must be an incentive, but almost 4 years without a trophy must also be a problem.

From Rafa's point of view , while he no doubt encourages the rumours of interest, I doubt he would really fancy going back to being just a coach, having little or no say in transfers etc etc.

Something to bring up in times of trouble ... yes, as a genuine possibility ..... nah.

At some point Rafa will manage in Spain again. It's a genuine possibility that he'll end up at Madrid, and I think it's probable he'll win the Spanish league at some point. Additionally, I'm sure he'll do something more in the Champions League.

For us it may be the right time for a change, but he is still an above-average manager who will get offers from some of the best clubs in Europe.

I agree with most of your post mate, not so sure about him ever managing Madrid though. Although they do go through managers pretty fast.

I knew there was someone who didn't like him  :D Seems the fans don't either :-

Benitez not only has a bad relationship with technical director Jorge Valdano, but the former Valencia chief is not exactly known for his attracting style of football either. The Real Madrid fans are likely to be unhappy with an appointment of the 49-year-old Benitez should it arise.
