Kuyts two goals wont make any difference whether Rafa keeps his job or not.......results over the coming weeks will determine that?.......and that is purely down to the managers tactics and team selections........Rafa has a habbit of "shooting himself in the foot"......and no doubt will do so again.....just watch the space.....he is already measuring out the lenth of rope he needs to hang himself.....wont be long now. :no

Dirks first goal was an excellent instinctive strike. He also did well to hold his nerve on the penalties. His miss in between was glaring though, as was his overhit attempt to play in Deggen which pushed him wide. Unfortunately, if you have too many average players you will get too many average results but fair play to Dirk, he keeps going and doesn't let his previous performances this season play too heavily on his mind. In all honesty it's just as well.

I know how you must be feeling son.......the truth does hurt...but in time you will realise the error of your minority views....and come to accept it's time to move on and face the future with hope in your heart and a new manager capable of winning the prem title........and not one that just talks about winning it!. :rasp

Maybe we keep this thread to talking about Kuyt? Before this gets shut down as well.
No matter what we think about the lad, he did us proud the other night, and helepd us to 3 VITAL points.

When he's not playing well he still puts in more effort than most if not all on the pitch. Maybe his contribution isn't consistent, but then whose is bar maybe Torres and Reina?!? For someone who gets so much stick he's scored SEVEN LEAGUE GOALS this season, I bet there aren't many wide players who can boast the same (now diver has gone to Madrid) and he's on course to get near, equal or beat his 12 of last season.

KUYT (PREMIERSHIP)

09/10 : 7 goals in 22 apps (0.318 goals/app)
08/09 : 12 goals in 38 apps (0.316 goals/app)
07/08 : 3 goals in 32 apps (0.093 goals/app)
06/07 : 12 goals in 34 apps (0.353 goals/app)

So he scores around 1 in 3 in the league in all his seasons bar 07/08 when his dad died of cancer so you might forgive him not having a great season. He's scored 12 goals in 38 games in Europe for us, some of his goals in Europe as well as domestically have been crucial and he himself has played a crucial part for us. I hope he can maintain his good form while Torres is out, I can't believe LFC fans would be so down on Kuyt when we can ill afford to be dropping players who score 10+ league goals a season and not from striker. Owen never scored more than 19 in a season for us, Kuyt's 12 from various positions may not be as many but they have been as important - especially under circumstances of not being up front all the time. If Riera scored 12 goals from the left I'd not only be shocked, but I bet everyone would be jerking off over his "achievement". Along with players like Torres, Reina and Gerrard he is one of our most important players

Kuyt battles hard and gives his all, but his lack of skill and quality is alarming. We should be doing much better IMO.

Other than his usual self, he did take his goals well. First one was a striker's goal no doubt about it but strangely coming from someone with bad first touch. Confident issue? Not sure.

If we conceded 2 goals in the game, surely some people will ask for his head on missing two great chances.

He never stops running and in my opinion he never lets us down, i would be gutted if we ever sold him as i think he is one of our most underrated players although if i am honest i would rather see him up front instead of out wide i think he would complement Torres quite well.

I just don't understand remarks like

- He is Liverpool through and through
- He works so hard for the shirt
- He bleeds red

And those are reasons for him top stay???

Just mumble jumble and nothing concrete at all.
I am only interested if he is good enough for LFC footballwise, nothing more nothing less. And as long as that is the level we are satisfied we'll never win anything!

He is atrocious for 7 games, get one goal vs Arsenal and all is forgotten, atrocious for another 7 games and scores vs Spurs and all is forgotten. That he misses sitter after sitter in between is something that just disspaears from peoples memory... :no

So you'd rather have Ryan Babel? he seems talented enough?  :D ... not saying you really do just making a point. It is very rare to find a player who gives 100% every single game these days. And Dirk Kuyt does that...

Atrocious for 7 games? In case you have'nt realised the whole team has been atrocious for more than 7 games...
