My erse !

Gerrard clearly isnt fit but it wasnt just fitness yesterday.
He was lacking something else and lost battles that he usually wouldnt have in the past.
The usual scapegoats Kuyt and Lucas put in alot more than the skipper in that game and deserve credit rather than the usual put downs.

Possibly 'cos he's not bothered, seeing as we're out of the league and CL this season already....it'd be hard for a captain to motivate others never mind himself, especially after the lofty heights (2nd place to the scum and NO silverware again !) of last season...
Oh, and coupled with the knowledge that as soon as a couple of decent first team choices are out, the team goes to pot. I bet he was only too chuffed to see that as well....

Stevie was definitely below par yesterday.... coming back from injury probably had something to do with it.

He's definitely not untouchable.... far from it. His performances in the red of liverpool over the years however, does buy him some mileage and I would think a tad more tolerance. His contributions even when sub par is still far beyond what most players can do when they are on top form.

Feck it.... Let's just sell him now and make a bundle from him.... we could probably re-build the entire squad and not have to worry about shoe-horning the best box-box midfielder to have graced the game in recent years, into a system that still makes outstanding use of his considerable talent albeit with an approximately 40% deficit as we lose his defensive capabilities.... if only the owners will let us spend the money we'd get for him on new players. :D

Just messing with you Bunglemark2.... I know what you're saying and you're right.... nobody should be sacrosanct... the context needs to be taken into consideration though.

Yeah con, i dont think anyone is suggesting dropping or selling Stevie that would be ludicrous (the only time that word has been used other than on a kellogs crunchy nut advert  :D )

But what people are pointing out is that he was clearly outshone by Lucas and Kuyt yesterday, yet they still get criticised and nothing is said about Gerrard being poor.

But i think he deserves a little bit of tolerance after what he has done for the club over the years.

I know Ben... I was just kidding around.... Feeble attempt I know!

So much humour has dissappeared from these boards lately that I thought I'd give it a go.... as you can see, its not one of my "gifts"

It is incredible how insulted you can be for not thinking Kuyt is the best thing since sliced bread.

And then you spew out insults which are very untrue cause I hit a soft spot?

So I am lesser humanbeing for being from Scandinavia?
And you wonder why Rafa is being hounded by the media....

And skip the after Istanbul :censored:. I have been a supporter since the 80´s and lived through the good days and the not so good days. But at least I am living in the now and not believing what was good then is good enough now.

So what if Gerrard had a poor game yesterday? (which he had)
Gerrard scores around 20 goals a season and is involved in so much of what we create offensivly. He isn't normally a passenger and can make goals on his own.

Kuyt is always surving execution cause he has 15-20 games like the one he had vs the bitters. He is poor but gets something on a rebound. The other 20-30 games he is just as poor but doesn't get a foot on a rebound.

Just cause I am supporter I am no damn lemming which some seem to be. Accept any :censored: a player performs otherwise you are not a true supporter?
Why should I boo our players?
It has not got anything to do with me not thinking certain players should be playing.
While they are wearing the red shirt they have my support
but that doesn't stop me from believing we can do better!

I dont regard myself as a lemming penguins.

I have been very critical of Rafa and the team this season as we have been poor and i think Rafa has made mistakes.

But yesterdays game he played ok and scored a vital goal.
I dont care whether it was a tap in or from 25 yards.
It was a vital goal.

Nobody is suggesting Dirk is one of the best players in the side but he fulfills a vital role.

He has been out of form definately and can be hugely frustrating at times but he did well yesterday.

I know we don't agree on much mate, but you are just as entitled to your opinion as anyone else. There is no need for people to start questioning when you started supporting Liverpool or where you come from, just because they disagree with you.

Just keep posting YOUR opinion mate.

Yes, we won the bloody game. Form isn't something you can simply turn on or off, the lads have to play there way back into it. Two ugly wins in a row isn't a bad way of going about it. Sure they had the upper hand and as mersey derbys go, the football was even worse than usual but it was a massive win and (fingers crossed) might even be the start of a run into form.

Hmm it was a luckly win and was as bad as I have ever seen Liverpool play, it was truly dreadfull and on another day we would have lost 4 or 5-0.

People who still claim we are unlucky can feck right off.

Kuyt and Lucas were both terrible and we have to upgrade both of them asap. I guarantee you here and now that when the next manager comes in then they'll be out the door quicker that can you can say "waste of money".

Stevie had a bad day, one of his worst, but was still light years better than Kuyt and Lucas, that says it all really.

Kuyt fulfills the proverbial workhorse role
We don't call him "duracell" for nothing
A team should be made up of Artisans and Artists
And it was a massive win
Ugly win or not I'll take ugly wins over wasted draws or losses any day
2 wins on the trot has to get the lad's spirits up
And that has to be massive at a time like this
The only True Reds in england...........
