Dutchsky Posted on Oct. 05 2008,10:23Unfashionable Dirk Kuyt winning over his Liverpool critics

Why Dirk Kuyt is Liverpool FC's unsung hero

2 good reads Dutchsky, the second one in particular makes alot of good points about his attributes and their benefits in Dutch football.

He just keeps scoring vital goals.
He should stop doing that, he's giving his bashers a really hard time...

All the stats have to be re written now. Instead of 27 games since his last league goal...... its now 1 in 1 for our Dirk :D

A veritable "hot streak" by Dirky's standards!

Keep em coming no 18!

Any team that has a player who can play 90 minutes, may not score lots of goals, but pops up with crucial goals would appreciate him more than some of our so called fans. It's ironic that he contributes more than Keane a lot of the time, yet the folk hero is the one who can do little wrong.

Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez:
"Kuyt is one of our key players. His work-rate is amazing and I think that is why the supporters love him."

hey i was as happy as anyone when he scored yesterday, the team comes before any individual, but lets be honest, his performance yesterday was dire and he once again gave hope to the people who rate him with a late goal. if he was not a regular first teamer however i wonder how many games we would be relying on a late goal.

watch the game again and focus on kuyt, look at how many times he mis controlled the ball and how many of his passes went astray, just read a few other forums and it seems people elsewhere are more prepared to be honest about kuyt and the adjectives used are poor, rubbish, wasteful, garbage etc etc etc.

one league goal in 28 games yet you defend him as a quality player

:kungfu:

if cropping up with the odd late goal and running round a lot is all it takes then mellor should still be at anfield

Yes he wasn't great but neither was Masch, Skrtel, Aurelio, Dosenna, even thought Reina should have saved the free kick..........but the lad kept working to the end and got the Match winner, having said that if Torres and Kuyt both never missed what was probably our 2 easiest chances this season the game could have been dead and buried alot sooner.

maybe focus on other peopl as well peewee cause there were plenty people once again on that pitch that were :censored: awful .

havent said kuyt played a blinder - just once again giving him credit . unlike some who will never give credit . if you think kuyt was the worst player on the pitch then your stram or motd highlights must of been :censored:.
