1. You're seriously having a laugh?

2. Torres and Keane like to attack crosses? What are you on about now lad? They both like the ball into feet and in behind if anything, neither of them are what I'd even call very good at attacking crosses.

Also, to pick faults with  Pennant crossing of the ball is complete and utter :censored:. He's probably one of the best in the league. The area's he puts the ball into are crying out for the ball to be attacked but as seen as we don't have those kind of strikers its a catch 22. It used to really :censored: me off over the last few seasons watch him beat a man, swing a great ball in, only to watch Kuyt, Bellamy and the likes standing on the edge of the box looking puzzled as to what they are meant to do when a wingers throwing in a cross that's got on the ball "touch me and I have goal writtin all over it".

Your wrong stu mate.

His crosses are woeful.

At Birmingham he looked decent as they had big strapping lads who went in high or late at the bakc post.

As you said yourself our players like it to feet or in front of the defender to un on, NOT in the air.

Pennant crosses are always in the air, more often than not over every fuc.ker.

You're wrong Leon.

His crosses are good.

When he played with Fowler and Crouch you seen the quality of his crosses as they were attacked.

Pennant supplies width, something Kuyt doesn't do.

Pennant's crosses are usually into an area, which Kuyt and Bellamy completely failed to attack.

We will have to agree to disagree mate.

From what I have seen at the games I have been to that the lad has played he flatters to deceive, does little trakcing back and his crosses when he actually gets them in never result in goals.

I will look into this no and try and find hte stats.

I've already explained why his crosses don't result in goals.

Good player he is, not a great one. But not a bad one. I'd rather have him on the right at the minute than Kuyt, who knows, Gerrard and Alonso in the middle, Riera on the left and a right winger on the right (even though fairly limited) may actually work.

Who would have thought that? To be quite honest, I was saying this years ago, but with Kewell instead of Riera, ya never know, it might actually work.

Thats your opinion Stu, not a fact mate.

However Kuyt has scored twice already this season, the same total that Pennant has scored EVER in one season (and one was not his goal by the way) and scores at least 10 per season. Pennant will NEVER score that many.

Kuyts assists are also decent, probabbly on a par with Pennants for crosses - so your only going to lose goals in the end.

Oh right, so movement, ball retention, doing the right things in the right area's and playing players in their natural positions will make you lose goals?

If you say so.

No Stu, what I say is:

If you swap Kuyt for Pennant it will be to the detrement of the team.

I wholeheartedly support playing players in their best position, but until wwe have a better player for the right wing then Kuyt gets the nod over Pennant all day every day.

TBH recently his touch has looked quite good. His finishing has still been a bit off but when cross field balls come his was he brings them down flawlessly and has been involved in a lot of good build up play. Sure he got the winner today, but I think that he has been playing reasonably well for the last couple of games.

Lets hope that he chips in with a few more this season, and we could end up with a lot of goals.
