How slow is he really?
Just so so or really slow compared to most PL strikers?

How good is his 1st touch?
Take of your tinted glasses and you too actually might see the truth....

So how good is he at taking on a defender and pass him?
Hmm, let me ask you have you ever seen it happen in the last 15 games???

And "Kuyt has been a bit of a dissapointment" must be the understatement of the year even if it just a new year.

He has been horrible, end of. He is not an awful footballer, just a limited one which is not even close to what Liverpool FC need.
Why must it be so hard to see?
Especially this season when he has someone by his side who actually does have quality as a striker. Even in comparison knowing what Torres did cost I would still think Kuyt was a freebie like Voronin.

The difference between our strikers is mindblowing.

1. Torres
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
5. Babel (really isn't a stiker, not yet anyway)
.
.
9. Crouch
10. Dead heat between the ineffective duo

Finally a person who thinks the same as me. I spotted Kuit weaknesses in the world cup and already at that time (summer 2006) I had made up my mind about him. Kuit destroyed Hollands chances in that tournament.

Kuit did not play in the first game. Holland won.
Kuit did not play the second game. Holland won.
Kuit played the third game. Holland failed to score but got 0-0

In the next game Kuit played and yet again Holland failed to score and were knocked out.

After watching him in the world cup and after watching a couple of games in Holland I was certain that Kuit was a big mistake. He had certainly no speed, or no real class, no ability to take on defenders and create goals.

But I honestly thought that he had a good shot and good finishing abilities. I thought these qualities shold get him some goals in the premiership. Unfortunately I was wrong in thinking so. Because his lack of pace is so chronic and his awareness so bad he never gets the ball in goal scoring position. So his shot and his finishing is of no use to anybody.

This thread was named: time for some rotation?

The only rotation I would like to see is a rotation back to Feyenoord.
If football is banned in heaven. I'd rather go to hell.

To get back to Kuyt, is he playing the style of football and the role that we bought him for?

I've been a fan of his work rate and supported him through a lot of criticism but whilst Liverpool had fantastic possession against City and numerous chances the team and Kuyt in particular wouldnt have scored in a brothel. I admire work rate (Sammy Lee for example, Rushie etc..) but he was brought in to score goals and he aint. If he aint, why was he bought etc...? Those 3 points were there for the taking and the fact we didnt points to a more fundemental problem.

Kuyts lack of pace allowed Richards and Dunne to spend all their time marking Torres, knowing if Kuyt got the ball they would have plenty of time before Kuyt got off his shot. Dunne had time to light a cig before tackling Kuyt.

that's a bit of an exaggeration mate... Torres didn't have a good game end of story... he couldn't run pass dunne even when 1 on 1... how is that Kuyt's fault?... Kuyt was even more involved in the city game than torres... he was the one that's tackling and winning the balls from the opponents and helping the team put pressure on them...

people keep saying that kuyt lacks pace... he's not the fastest but he's not the the slowest either... he has average pace... no more no less that's it... if you wanna talk about a player who lacks pace, talk about crouch, now he is half as fast as kuyt...
