it's true though what you say about it being a gamble. in a way, every signing that you make is a gamble. this kid could turn out to be a van persie or he could turn out to be a kezman. we just don't know.

if i had to guess i'd say the former. he's the closest thing i've seen to van nistelrooy in recent years and he even displaced van nistelrooy in the dutch national team under van basten. ok he won't give you even half the workrate that kuyt does but that's not his game. he's an out and out finisher.

he's also been linked with a move away from holland for ariound 18 months now so i think he'll be on the move in the summer. don't know what he'd cost though.

It is too easy to talk sh1t, but does not make you correct.

Im impressed some are still happy with Kuyt contribution.
All I hear is

"He works hard" or "It is Rafa that forces him to play in abad way"

Gimme a break. He is one of the slowest strikers in the whole league. He has a terrible 1st touch, poor creativity and can't ever pass a defender by himself.

How can that be good enough for Liverpool FC???

At 1st glance he has a few goals but if you look into it it makes for a dire reading.

2 goals vs an already beaten 2nd rate "To loose". ZZZZ

2 penalties vs the blueshite of none which he was the cause of. Wow, 2 penalties. Why not let finnan take them to bloat his goalscoring...

1 goal vs newcastle he has no idea he scored. it just hits him and goes in. What a sniper....

1 goal vs an already beaten marseille side which were 2 nil down.

He has been awful this season. Not saying Voronin or Crouch has been much better but considering the cost and playing time of Kuyt makes it even less fun.

If you would look at a stiker by class Kuyt would have 0.
There is nothing there to suggest Kuyt will all of a sudden run faster and make things happen. The sooner Rafa admits his mistake(which he so far has done) the better.

And yes, he might be a nice bloke, but I do prefer that they have the quality on the field...

kuyt has been abit of a disappointment this season yes... but I would sell crouch and voronin first before kuyt...

some people on here over-rate crouch and under-rate kuyt... I guess it's personal opinion...

Hmm, let me ask you have you ever seen it happen in the last 15 games???

And "Kuyt has been a bit of a dissapointment" must be the understatement of the year even if it just a new year.

He has been horrible, end of. He is not an awful footballer, just a limited one which is not even close to what Liverpool FC need.
Why must it be so hard to see?
Especially this season when he has someone by his side who actually does have quality as a striker. Even in comparison knowing what Torres did cost I would still think Kuyt was a freebie like Voronin.

The difference between our strikers is mindblowing.
