He's also somewhat unbreakable *touch wood*, I bet anyone else played wide on a regular basis with any pace would get hacked down and spend 1/3 of the season or more out with injury. Is it a coincidence the quicker players (Owen, Torres etc) tend to have more injuries.....................?

Well done Owzat!  This is your fault :D

Time to stick Babel on the right wing! A bit of width maybe

My guess is we'll stick Maxi Rodriguez out there initially. After a couple of anonymous performances from him, we'll give Babel a go, and once that's proven a no-no we'll do what we normally do when we're fecked. We'll play Steven Gerrard there.

Kuyt won't be around forever and this injury will just highlight a problem that has dogged us for seasons, lack of a good right sided player.

Maxi is not a great alternative and Babel is unlikely to be either but I'd go for the latter.

He won't be a big miss in the next game but will definatley be a big miss in the game against the mancs

Hopefully Maxi can slide right in and be effective, I think Babel could do the job as well but I'd rather not have him there.

I would play Joe Cole on the right after he comes back from suspension.

It's looking more like a month out according to the Echo this morning.

what the hell was he doing trying asn overhead kick in training anyway? utterly pointless.

anyway i'd probably now play maxi out there against birmingham. against united however i'd be tempted to play gerrard on the right will joe cole in the hole and mereiles and lucas/poulsen in the centre, mainly because gerrard will the best option to stop evra getting forward down that flank.

to be honest, this is the first time i can really remember him missing a serious spell through injury since he signed in 2006. his injury record for us has been phenomenal.
