Are people on drugs?

If we get anywhere near 10 million I'd say take the money and run.

3 years ago i would have agreed completely with you because the manager would have been given the money back with a bit more probably to invest in a younger better player. There's no evidence that this will happen , infact all the evidence shows that it will not and he will be given some of the money possibley and who will he be able to buy with it

doubt he will be sold as he is apparently on the starting line-up meaning he would be cup-tied for european games. isnt it?

Here in Holland the news is that there is not going to be a transfer''.There never was a bid,and he never said he wanted to leave''they quote Hodgson..It was on teletext, which 99% of the time is true.

After tonights match: Liverpool's Dirk Kuyt: "A lot of people have said a lot of things about my future, but for me it is at Liverpool. I like it here at the club and I want to stay here and win things." Well that's that then. Must improve though.

Glad he is staying, we need some half decent squad players - he is so infuriating though, I really do hope we can get someone in to replace him however if Roy wants to play wide men, because he just isnt a wide player

There's an exception to the rule that means Inter would be able to register him for the CL. If Inter finished third in the group stages, dropping into the Europa League, he wouldn't be eligible for that competition as he's already played in it for us.

That said, I think he'll think stay anyway. I don't believe he's willing to push a move through and certainly not so late in the day - Dirk's not that kind of guy; I believe Roy would be reluctant to lose another important player on top of Mascherano with only 5 days of the window left to run; and I'm not convinced Inter would stump up enough cash anyway.

Edit

Looks like he's committed:

"My future is at Liverpool," said Kuyt. "I have had four great years at the club. Unfortunately I have not won any trophies but hopefully I will do in the future. The point for me was that I'm 30 years old and I wanted to know if any club in the world showed any interest in me. The club spoke to me and explained everything. They said I was really important for Liverpool and that made me a really proud person. At that point I focused my thoughts on Liverpool."

Dutch striker Dirk Kuyt commits future to Liverpool

The 30-year-old had been linked with a move to Inter Milan to be reunited with former Reds boss Rafael Benitez.

"As far as I know my future is at Liverpool," said Kuyt after helping the Reds beat Trabzonspor in their Europa League qualifier.

"I have had a great time here so far and hope my future here will be great as well and that I can win trophies with Liverpool."

Liverpool boss Roy Hodgson welcomed Kuyt's comments but believes they were unnecessary from a player he regards as vital in his attempts to revitalise the Anfield club's fortunes.

"Dirk Kuyt is not for sale so excuse me for not understanding the speculation of being happy now he has said he is staying because I never doubted he was staying," said Hodgson.

To get a result here was something quite important and will stand us in good stead for plenty of other matches

"Dirk is an important part of Liverpool, I've made it clear we don't welcome any offers for him and he's not for sale.

"As far as I'm concerned he is someone I believe in, someone I count on, and it is important we improve the team around the likes of Steven Gerrard, Fernando Torres, Jose Reina and Kuyt and not sell them and start all over again."

Liverpool had gone a goal down against Trabzonspor as Teofilo Gutierrez cancelled out the Reds's slender first-leg advantage.

But an own goal from Giray Kacar late on and Kuyt's tap-in gave the Merseysiders victory as they completed a 3-1 aggregate win to earn a place in the group stages of the Europa League.

"We were looking down the barrel here coming to Trabzon," said Hodgson after Liverpool's first win over a Turkish side in Turkey.

"They were fresh off a win over Fenerbahce here, they are last season's champions, they don't lose at home and we beat them at home.

"To get a result here was something quite important and will stand us in good stead for plenty of other matches.

"We had the toughest possible start but I thought we got over it and throughout the game played well.

"Quite frankly we should have had the game sewn up long before we did. But I was relieved."

Trabzonspor coach Senol Gunes was left ruing Liverpool's late show as his side failed in their attempts to cause an upset.

"I am really upset but I think we had a positive game and our players tried their best," said Gunes.

"Until the last 10 minutes we tried to control the midfield but we were really tired in the last few minutes. But I am grateful to our players and supporters."
