Seriously, we don't have enough quality in the side to compliment Kuyt's qualities. And for me the poor bloke sticks out like a sore thumb when things aren't going well. Had we say the players of ilk like Cole and Silva etc Kuyt would have reveled in the team, but there are too many 'average joe's' who have similar workman like qualities as Kuyt and it doesn't make for an effective team IMO.
Football is a relatively simple game and Roy knows it ;)

Very good post, my thoughts exactly.  If Kuyt would go to Inter im sure he'd be a success there with all the technically gifted players around him.

Even though he is not great it is his hard work ethic will be sorely missed and if we are losing him plus Javier we are going to be fooked if we lose them this season is going to worse than last season believe me.

Sorry to be negative but our lack of quality is there for all to see

i agree bout needing a classy winger, but rumours have said that we r interested in hatem ben arfa, whats your opinion of him, personally i dont like him as a player.
with 15milliion for kuyt there must be an available quality winger to sign

Ben Afra is a promising young lad and can play as an attacking midfielder or a winger (in either wings). He is also available for half the price you have mentioned.

I won't be too unhappy if Kuyt goes, to be honest I think he is more suited to playing abroad, on Monday out on the right he just looked unhappy.
My worry is with him and Masch possibly moving on that we won't have time to spend on replacements.
We have no width whatsoever after all.

Why season after season do we get deals that drag on and on?

are you sayin he would be an ok signing for roughly 7-8mill. you know more about him than me, ur description that he can play all those positions and maybe even forward just tells me sign an out and out striker and play babel in those positions

I didn't say he can play forward as well. He is a proper winger unlike Babel (whose best position is still a mystery). And Ben Afra is available for that low because he is not happy at his current club and wants to leave.

:censored: players.

Fine you want out sod off. I look at it this way, People where saying we would lose Pepe, Nando and Steve if rafa went. Looks like we will lose Yossi Mach and Dirk.

In some ways thats a result?

I wouldn't mind seeing Kuyt go as long as he's replaced by a proper winger. In fact I would be happy if he goes in this window as I don't think next year his worth will be anywhere near Inter are willing to pay now.

i wouldn't say that  :)

We've lost Yossi, Riera, Aqualani, and Nemeth.
In the next few days, looks like we'll be losing Masch and maybe Kuyt.

im not sure whether Roy has anything up his sleeve or not...
but so far the players coming in are of a lower quality than the ones we're selling.

If we get £10M - £12M for Kuyt and replace him with a genuine wide man (like Ben Arfa) then that is good business IMO. As much as I like Kuyt for all that he has given LFC he isn't irreplaceable.

Except for the fact that Cole is a better player than any of the lads we've sold or loaned out that is.  :;):
