Lucas has always gotten stick it seems, maybe because his game doesn't fit with the Benitez two holding midfielder set-up.  I hope Roy can get the best out of him, for his sake and the sake of football in general - I hate the two DM tactic that seems to be the fashion these days.

I read today claims Woy has said neither Kuyt nor Mascherano are going to Inter, I guess peewit mk II will be choking on his Farley's rusk and crying into his milk!

"Liverpool boss Roy Hodgson says neither Javier Mascherano or Dirk Kuyt will be joining former boss Rafa Benitez at Inter Milan."

Yes, he's also thick as f'ck and thinks he's superman because he has a bit of retard strength.

Funny the EUROPEAN champions were never interested before his dad became manager.

Seriously, why do you take so much offence when people don't want him in the team? Fair enough he contributes "something" to the team but is it that hard to understand that some people would prefer a more technically gifted, faster, intelligent attacking player in his position.

And I apologise for being childish and patronising by saying £3M. Seriously, £6M would be good business if we took a similar figure for Benayoun.

Owzat, just out of interest do you have any stats comparing the 2 (Benayoun and Kuyt) ...U know goals/assists per minutes/matches played, ages, etc.
we've only won it 5 times

Kuyt has stopped short of revealing the details of the offer put to Liverpool, but has admitted that an approach has been made.

He has given no indication as what he intends to do next, but is reported to have told a Dutch newspaper: "On Thursday night, during the Europa League game against Trabzonspor, the board of Liverpool informed me officially that they have received a fax from Inter.

"You can call this a luxury situation for me now."

So a 15 mill bid has been made despite what Moratti said.

Good money considering he is 30 now but I would only accept the bid if we have got a replacement lined up for the right wing.

nah, make it 18million. like Sneidjer said in an interview "Kuyt in the team is like playing with 12 men as he does the work of 2 players". i wouldnt sell him unless the replacement is equally good, if not better. and for the 6th time, if anyone should be sold, its Maxi. he has very minimal impact i reckon.

Kuyt isn't one we should be actively looking to sell but 15 million is very good money for a 30 year old right winger who is reliable but not spectacular and cost us 9 million 4 years ago.

If 15 million is on offer, Kuyt wants to go, and we can find a good replacement, we should sell.

Well, I like Kuyt,  but 15 mil? Considering he's 30, he aint getting any younger or any better than he is now. I was thinking what would Inter offer for him the other day and I thought that about 10 - 12 mill should be enough so 15 is even better. We can get a new decent back up for Torres with that kind of money, or we can buy a new younger winger who will be good enough to replace Kuyt.... heard that we were being linked with Wright-Philips few weeks ago. Not that he is too young but he is better than Kuyt and cheeper than 15 mill.

and their very entitled to say the :censored: they say about him. Come on  you can only say what you see and in my eyes and most others you honestly have to say after 3 years in the team I honestly don't know what he can bring to the team, we had a fella in Poulson who come in the other night and looked more at ease in the role. You may say that Lucas in a more forward attacking player but I thinly that is only making excuses for a player who is not good enough for L.F.C

Not that he is way better than Kuyt but he is faster and threatens the defense more than Kuyt does. His crosses are way better but he sucks in defense and doesnt run as much as Kuyt does... actully no body runs as Kuyt does :D. All in all he is younger and cheeper than Kuyt, not that I rate Phillips too high but I just brought him up as a suitable replacement that was linked with us.

Kuyt is by no means a player with star quality but he does bring tremendous energy and workrate to the side and that in itself is a bonus for any side. If you play in the same side as Kuyt you see him grafting and it encourages you to do the same, football is a team game and not all the players can be the same type, great teams have a blend and they all gel and inspire each other in different ways. Kuyt is a regular in an international side that is full of technically gifted players but without him none of them could perform to their level in that team. I hope he stays on but maybe he fancies a change or the club feel its a good offer for a player his age and when money is tight. Whatever happens Kuyts a good player and has done very well at Liverpool.

precisely...

In today's market, even if you spend 15 million you're not sure you'll get a guaranteed successful player... if we wanna improve on Kuyt it will probably have to be Jesus Navas. If we can get him for 15 million then fair enough...
