He won fu.ck all with an unlimited budget at Madrid last season (granted Perez signed those players and not the man himself - but who wouldn't have wanted the sporting director to bring in Ronaldo, Kaka, Alonso and Benzema??), so what's he going to do here with absolutely no funds to play with?

Not to mention how good his English is or isn't, or how much he actually knows about English football.  This isn't the time to fu.ck around with another foreign manager with a long term project who needs time to learn the culture and build a squad, now is the time to bring in an experienced manager with experience in this league who can bring some stability on the domestic front and get the best out of what is actually still a pretty good team.

Cue the 'but look at what he did at Villareal' responses.  So what.  La Liga isn't the Premiership, just as LFC is not Villareal.  He is a bad choice.

but his name isn't British descendant (which rules woy out) he must be a genius.  ffs
Football is a relatively simple game and Roy knows it ;)

Its got to be Dalglish or Hodgson. No point in faffing about with Pelligrini and waiting for him to get to grips with the Premiership and yet another influx of South American/Spanish footballers flocking over to Liverpool. Im not anti foreign but this fella has done no more than the boys we have here so unless we can attract a top draw coach from overseas just let Dagger or Roy have a crack at brining this team together and get us playing at least in the short term.

The club don't seem to want Dagger.
if he was good enough for Real madrid, i think he is good enough for us.  :)

i suppose he (deschamps) could be holidaying there, but its 150 miles away from Marseille and Marseille has an airport, so its not an obvious one.  hmmmmm

Surely if they were going to appoint Kenny they would have done so by now?

Can't understand why anybody is especially happy with the ideas of Pellegrini coming to the club? I can understand reservations about Hodgson's profile and whether he should ever be at a club like LFC but is Pellegrini really any different? His CV is hardly a knck-out is it? A few decent years at Villareal where he had them punching above their weight is all that jumps out.

I see a few of the people sticking the boot in on Hodgson seem to be happy about the prospect of Pellegrini but on what grounds? Apart from the Spanish lads perhaps liking the idea of another Spanish speaking manager, I really can't see much reason to appoint him. New league, new culture, no money to spend. Got Sergio Ramos written all over it.

Hodgson might not be the answer but i'd take him over this guy any day. Why are people so aghast about Hodgson yet have nothing to say when we get linked with this guy? Makes no sense to me.

According to the press.. but LFC have not even talked to woy and he's now in SA for the duration of the comp..

I think we may be in for some interesting situation, but for the ex- Real Madrid Manger to be approached.. lets see, woy could well be the smoekscreen to someone with greater pedigree !

Suddenly I have hope  :)

tip for making an argument : make your argument and not the counter-argument, no sense in making it easy!

Where have I mentioned Fulham in my post mate, or Woy?

Just wondering like.

Tip for making a post:  Make sure it's relevant to the post you're quoting :;):

Neither are my choice of manager and neither are a step up from Rafa in fact a step down , just believe that Pellegrini has had his team punching above their weight a lot higher than Woy and his brand of football seems better than Woy

I'm a little perplexed by all of the criticism of Hodgson's brand of football.  For one, just because Fulham have played a defensive game against us (a more talented team) frequently in the past doesn't mean they always play that way.  For two, how exactly would you organize a team of Fulham's pedigree?  It's not exactly like Hodgson had the personnel to play Cruyff-esque total football.

Very true BB... the question is would he command the respect of the cruyfisque players.. otherwise he could be left doing a fulahmisque job with LFC too :(
