MANCHESTER CITY VS. LIVERPOOL - January 3 2012 20:00 gmt

Liverpool Football Club - Games

Manchester City are yet to drop points this season at the Etihad, and have merely conceded 4 goals.

An interesting statistic is that most of the goals they scored came in the 2nd half, the same half which Liverpool conceded the most goals this season.
This could be either a low scoring game with both teams taking a cautious approach or a high scoring game.

It would be a real shame if Craig Bellamy is to be dropped for Luis Suarez. I would rather see Andy Carroll or Stewart Downing be dropped for this game. Bellamy simply has to play. He is lethal.

A victory would be so sweet, but I'm hoping for a draw

Bellamy playin could depend on the eye injury, looked nasty and about 4 stitches.... i reckon if thats ok he'll play....
not sure how Suarez'll be after th report came out but he twisted em inside out at Anfield so hopefully he plays some part

I fancy us to nick a point. Call me a pessimist but I think a win is out of the question given their record at home.

0:0 for me

Ok guys, hot on the heels of the prematch 3-1 prediction in the Newcastle game thread, I'm looking at a 2-0 victory for the reds and a quick scan of the stanjames website shows tasty 25-1, mind you a mere victory is currently 4-1, thats got to be worth a flutter.

sounds like a nice double in prospect there neil, gonna add a first scorer and bump it up even higher? I guess SG's favourite but AC must be a very good price....

Bellers usually has decent odds these days. I'd quite fancy him to stick it to Mancini, especially with his goalscoring run

City have been poor lately. 1 point in their last 2 against garbage clubs (tho sunderland is a bit stronger with MON in charge).

We play really well against the top clubs.  I see Stevie, Suarez and Bellamy all starting this one for sure, maybe Maxi thrown in if not Kuyt.  We are the only 2 clubs without a home loss this season, and we are fully capable of changing that come Tuesday.

I quite fancy us to take them now, fickle I know :D

They have one days rest between games and they've looked out of sorts recently, maybe this is where City manage to revert to type and fook things up somehow, here's hoping anyway

                                    reina.
         johnson        skyrtel       carra       enrique.
                                   agger.
          kuyt          adam          gerrard     downing.
                                  suarez.
would love to see agger playing a sweeping role in front of the back 4 for this one.

Not sure about what kind of line-up we should use. I'm really temped to try out Carroll with Suarez in the attack with Gerrard distributing the balls for Carroll but it's a big risk. And what kind of a midfield should we then use?

Hardly going to happen but I'd use this:

                    Reina

  Johnson    Skrtel   Agger    Enrique

Gerrard   Hendo/Adam/Spear.   Bellamy

              Carroll     Suarez
