We are playing too deep... look at how far gerrard has to go just now and the rest of the midfield isn't pushing up with him...

Put Downing on the left where he belongs and Henderson on the right and maybe we can nick this. At present we will do well to get a draw and hope that we can do them in the replay when Suarez would be back.

Odd display.

Why the hell do we sit back so often. Donwe really think we are good enough to hold a 1-0 lead for 70 mins.

Downing's had a really good game I think. Helped out defensively and shown intent in attack.

I hope those that sl*g off Andy can see it, so glaringly and blatant. He's playing six against one with a ping-pong ball. Poor half overall. Kenny needs to stick to hsi guns. He's an attack minded manager. B*llocks to this sitting back sh*t.

Why oh why are we sitting back and trying to defend? We got an early goal and they are there for the taking. Carroll has too much to do up front on his own!

Our formation is way too defensive!

We went all out attack against City and they are a much better side than Utd! I just don't get it?

Changes at half time hopefully.

Carra really isnt a midfield player. We should either drop him or go with three CB's.

Very poor lineup led to a very poor first half. Team looks totally different then just a few days ago. Frustration is even bigger considering we are facing a deplated manure team.

Have to get Carragher out of there. Put Adam in and get Bellamy supporting Carroll from the left instead of Maxi.

you're not the only one who thinks that:

view from the scouse journos:

Jim Boardman: Carra's not right for this game.

Richard Buxton: Carragher offering little in holding midfield role for #LFC so far. Scholes allowed to dictate #MUFC play too freely as we head into HT. 1-1

I actually think we're doing OK, not showing too much in attack though, mostly because of the poor games Gerrard and Maxi are having. But I think we can work on that in the second half and still be able to win this.

He's definitely not getting the delivery he needs but most of the chances he's had to play 1-2s he's spurned and he just doesn't have the pace!

We could have played this hold the lead and sit back game all the way if we had Bellamy in full fitness. Defense starts from the top and Andy Carroll needs to work his :censored: off and try and haggle the f*ck out of United defenders but he just doesn't have the pace! (or desire?)

IMO the problem is as much about Carragher as it is about Caroll not doing a good job in pressing the ball in the middle of the field, thus allowing United to pass the ball around easily...
Floyd stepped left and threw the hook that caught Hatton flush under the chin. Finally, the British champ had arrived in that mythical place of which his fans speak: Hatton Wonderland.
