Liverpool Football Club - Games

Postby red till i die!! » Thu Sep 22, 2011 5:21 pm

it will be good to be back in anfield after 3 straight away games.
both teams are level on pts atm and both coming off the back of disapointing defeats.
im sure kenny will demand an improvement on the field and at home there should be no excuses.

hope to see us line up like this.
                                  reina.
       kelly           carra          coates       enrique.

                                 lucas.

                 hendo                       downing.
                               gerrard.
                         suarez      bellamy.
the corresponding fixture last year saw us beaten 1.0 in what was a poor tie so hopefully we rout them this year.
3.0 to us.

as above but Kuyt in for henderson. (That's what I'd play anyway, but with kuyt playing full 90 on Wed, and hendo not playing at all, then I think kenny will go with hendo.

One good and one bad stat for you going in to this game:

Since losing to Wolves at Anfield in December, Liverpool have lost just one of 12 Premier League home matches (W8 D3 L1).   :)

Liverpool have kept just one clean sheet in their last eight Premier League matches. :(

i dont think kenny will bench hendo, adam and carroll for this one and probably wont start stevie either.
i think hendo will offer us more in an attacking sense and with kelly hopefully back fit and behind him will keep him on his toes.kuyt did play well last night and will have a good shout in starting but hendo has better vision and is quite capable of producing a goal.

Bellamy, Kuyt, Maxi and Suarez should start

However I don't think KD will start with Maxi and Bellers though, expect to see Henderson, Downing and Andy Carroll back in the starting lineup

I agree, I'd also add Adam to that list.  I think Gerrard will again be on the bench, looking ahead to the derby and Scum.

I won't celebrate Rafa going........ but I will be over the moon if Dalglish comes in. League within 2 years if he gets the job, AND YOU CAN QUOTE ME ON THAT.

No, Adam and Skrtel were suspended for last night's game.  They are both available for Wolves.

Theyre not an easy side to beat. I think last night's lineup was a strong indicator of how players like Maxi and Bellamy can be more useful playing close to Suarez than Carroll, Adam, Henderson, or even Downing. Much as I am tempted to suggest we start the same lineup again, I have to say some of the players looked exhausted out there while others simply failed to impress.

Kuyt for one looked absolutely exhausted in the second half despite not playing last weekend and I think its very likely he'll be on the bench for this one. Coates and Robinson had poor games imo and neither one of them deserves a starting spot on the back of that display. Spearing had a mixed night but overall he did relatively well especially in connecting with attacking players higher up the pitch.

My lineup would be:

                        Reina
Johnson     Carragher     Skrtel     Enrique

                  Lucas       Spearing
Maxi                    Bellamy             Downing
                         Suarez

Expected lineup:
Reina
Kelly
Carra
Skrtel
Enrique
Lucas
Henderson
Adam
Downing
Carroll
Suarez

would defo start Bellamy and Kuyt...wouldn't risk Gerrard tho. Have him on the bench and bring on around 65 mins

We need to route these boys.  Carroll needs more game time, was expecting him against Brighton.  I'm wondering if Kenny's started to give up on him tho.  Suarez is an obvious, and Carra will be in there.  Hoping to see Coates start, and expecting Hendo back in the starting lineup.

Stevie needs a good 30 minutes tonight.
