Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

I hope we see
Eto
maybe Tevez
maybe recall FSP hes pretty skillfull
a quality winger, in the ronaldo, robben, lennon category
defence seems pretty solid as does center midfield so no need for panic buying

Possible high profile targets:
Alves
Villa
Eto
Treseguet
Lennon
Schweinstieger
Joaquim
Berbatov

Any of the above I would like to see playing at Anfield and are realistic if we do really have a 40m transfer budget.

Besides a striker and left midfielder; we need a left back too.

Not sure who that would be.

Only professional to - play in goal (41 appearances), Defence, Midfield, Striker, and later be Director and then to be Manager (winning a Championship) - at one club

Aaron Lennon is the new Shaun Wright Phillips.

I was looking at Aaron Lennon the other night against Seville in fine detail to see how well he actually plays. To be honest I have seen his sparsely this season on MOTD, against us, and Football First and although he has been impressive in some games I don't feel he has shown enough to suggest his transfer value is anywhere near some of the figures being quoted. He's fast but I think he footballing skills are quite poor. I'd be willing to take a gamble on him of around 8m but would not look to be spending any more than that at present.  We should of snapped him up from Leeds for 1m when Spurs did.

On the subject of who we should buy, I don't really know at present. Wingers and a striker for me, but a lot can happen between now and the end of the season - IF  West Ham go down with Charlton, I would certainly take a look at Darren Bent, Tevez and surprisingly Matty Etherington.

On my wishlist are :

Deco - has the creativity that we lack upfront

Alves- could take the right wing apart

Villa / Eto-we need a establish w/class upfront...will get us goals when it is impossible

Bale-talented leftback

Simao/Quaresma-quality wingers to whip in quality ball in the box **we really need them!!**...they get themselves goals too

:D

Villa
Alves
Pedersen

I think Pedersen's underrated TBH. He does a great job for Blackpool, sorry Blackburn :D and I think he could make the step up to a big club.

Alves, Villa, Aimar, and a quality leftback.

Unless Kewell can sort his injuries out, we also need a new left winger. Quite who remains to be seen, though.
