I think Mourinho wants to prove he can build a dynasty and where will he get a better chance than with us. If he wants huge wages he will go to Madrid/Citeh , if he wants to build something he will come to us.(If given the option)

Build a dynasty with what exactly ?

O'Neill has been well backed these past seasons by Lerner, an owner who at least invest in his team. O'neill has been able to shape the team and improve it surely but slowly and are looking at finishing above us this season.

Have you looked at the state of this club at the moment?
Record debt, not a single penny in the transfer kitty, lost revenues from no CL football next season and more pressure to pay the interest on the loans taken. Not to mention the 16 million to pay of Rafa. Add to that owners who treats the club
like any business and just want to milk money out of the club.
And no stadium in sight for at least 8 years.

And immense pressure from fans to relive the past since they demand miracles=(able to fight with teams with a heck of alot more resoruces)

Your predictions as far as our transfer budget are SPECULATIVE mate. Lets see what happens.

yes O'neil has been backed by Lerner to a degree BUT i'd be interested to a comparison of net spend between O'neil and Rafa over the last 4 seasons. For all out problems Rafa has been able to purchase THREE £20 million (or thereabouts) players in Torres, Keane and Aquilani. I don't think O'neil has been able to spend (in one go) more than the £8 million or so he spent on Ashley Young, correct me if i'm wrong.

I'm aware that the club is in a shi....t....e state, i think we are (or bloody should be!) and so far as a pay off for Rafa goes it seems very likely that him leaving would/can only occur if A/ the owners want rid and B/ If the likes of Madrid, Milan or Juve make an approach to talk to Rafa about a managerial vacancy. If the owners agreed to let them talk to Rafa, I personally think it highly unlikely that he would decline, and stay at the club with such a vote of no confidence. Mind you he's a stubborn bugger so he might!

Why would Mourinho even consider LFC?

No Reg, Rafa gets £4million a year, there is nothing to say we wouldn't pay more for the right man. Once we get our new investment ......the worlds our lobster.

With our owners....

The ignorance is stunning... MONEY TALKS!

But O'neil will do it for 6 and Hodgson will go as low as 5 so we're alright.

A good team that includes 4 or 5 world class players already.

Speculative?

Did Purslow lie to SOS about the fact that LFC would only be able to spend the money from sales during the summer?

Ok, it's from Koptalk but saw this on their forum:

Last 4 years net spend:

Villa: 82.3M
Everton: 18.2M
Tottenham: 74.0M
Liverpool: 61M
Birmingham: 18m
Fulham: 22m
Sunderland: 71m
Man City: 246M
Arsenal: -35M!
Man Utd: 9M (89M without the ronaldo sale)

just thought this was interesting for all those who are saying what a great job o'neill has done and trying to claim he hasn't spent much ...... the guy has taken a top 6 club and turned it into a top 8 club while spending more than almost everyone else around them!

anyone like to explain why the useless tit is so highly rated when he is so blatantly average at best?

So that is why Torres said we needed 4-5 more top class players to be able to fight for titles?

You think they'll accept monopoly money?

I think mourinho would come to us in a flash with the right investement i really do . I just think he wouldn't touch us with a bargepole with our situation at the moment . Who could blame him ? No i think we are looking at a Roy Hodgson type and that's me being opimistic about the current situation at the club . Hodgson would do alright an all i think ,but we'd have no chance of competeing for a top four place imo . Reckon we better get used to the Uefa cup .

If things stay as as they with as far as money goes, I think City. But I don't think City will be looking for a new manager in the summer. Mancini has been in the job 5 minutes. I think if City wanted Maureen, if he was the man they really wanted they would have gone for him in mid-season. They're not exactly short of the compo money are they? They doesn't mean that Maureen wouldn't want the LFC job.

Wouldnt leave Inter while they have a chance to win CL . Like you say the money and owner situation is exactly the reason why he would go to city

More speculation spoken as fact.

Not all Benny , he has bought a fair bit of cr@p, but I am pretty sure with the right manager they will be performing above and beyond the call of duty and the cups will come rolling in.

Do you really think any manager would leave halfway in season while they are going for three trophies ?!?!
