Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Our boys were amazing today and can all be proud..im proud of them!
We bossed the game from start to end............
The end result has highlighted a major problem. We are like a great boxer with a superb jab but no Knock out punch.....Sooner or later we were gonna be on the ropes even for a second and the rest is history!

WE NEED A GOAL SCORER BIGTIME!
Bellamy worked his ar.se off and Kuyt tried hard, did not have a great game today!
The bottom line is good movement off the ball, hard work and determination dont put the ball in the net.

Gutted and hurt as i am...im not surprised at the way the game went.
The Gulf between us and them lies in 1 area only...they take there chances,we dont!

Anyway dont be too hurt fellow red men....LFC showed the world today that we can dominate and make average probably the best team in Europe at present!

Keep chins up and Walk on!! :buttrock  :bowdown

hate to say it but bellamy was offside, but we should have killed the game off sooner..why did sissoko stay on so long as he was not very effective(to many passes incomplete and poor touch)..we done well enough without him so why bring him back in and push stevie out wide again..after all is said and done the mancs will know they got lucky..

There is no way the linesman could have seen Momo touch the ball, but hey what can you do? on another shout momo has some rash touches during the game, He's brilliant at what he does and he can wriggle himself out of trouble with a bit of skill but he needs a coach to learn how to pass the ball.

I for one will not complaint of poor finishing here by any of our strikers: kuyt, bellamy or crouch. You can see they played their hearts out for our club at every match. We just dont have that 'luck factor' this period... i.e. our strikers being at the right time, right place to score. Take tonight's game, you think o-shake a terriffic world class finisher???

We need a fox in the box nothing proved that more to me than today, every time Vanda saar? kept the ball out ther was nobody within two yards to follow up and put it in the net and that has been happening since Owen left.

Great performance by the team today.....the luck of manure is just something that not even the great rafa-tactician can fight against. They deserved nothing from that game but ended up getting everything.....roll on barca

If thats the best England has to offer i think next season we have the title.  Put in an Eto'o, etc and class wingers we would have romped that today!  I fear Arsenal more than Chavski and Scum U in the next few years, they have a good squad at present with some real talent coming through.

Sissoko = get that boy in intensive passing and dribbling training.

Alonso = we will probably have to part with him to get Eto'o, part of a swap deal but we will have made money on him.  When was the last time we made serious money on a player?

Riise = a LOT of clubs would kill for a player like that on the left.

Gerrard = looked tired today.

Forwards = no bite, plenty of effort though and ill be sad to see any of them go.

In summary, we have the base of a title winning side just need the step up in class in a couple of positions.  Mind you, i have been saying that for a few years now....

Good performance, not alot more we could have done really once the dust settles i think we will be able to take some pride (however small) at how we made them look nothing more than average.
Lets not start the blame game for Christ sake the way things are going we may well have a rematch on the cards and who can bet agaist Rafas first win over the scum coming in the Champions league.
Roll on Barca
