As for the team tomorrow, I'd go for something like this:

                                  Reina

       Finnan          Hyypia       Carragher         Riise

       Pennant        Sissoko      Gerrard            Gonzalez

                          Crouch       Bellamy

The back five picks itself after last season. Kewell and Fowler are injured so probably won't feature. As for Alonso, he's not featured in pre-season so I'd be tempted to bring him off the bench in the second half.

Alonso picked was injured for the most of pre-season so can't see him playing wednesday from the start, although i'd imagine a sub appearance and maybe a start for the Community Shield?

Well, seems they have more than just Sky and BBC out there  ???

But hey, don't you remember the great Benny Hill ? I think he was on ITV ....
I think that when LFC fans will see how your left back, Magrashvilli plays, they will think it is Benny Hill (or maybe even Fred Scuttle  :D )

Rafa, if you read this, PLEASE play on Magrashvilli ! he is sooooooo slowwwwwwwww ...

slow??
absolutely no!
he has a problem in the defense side, but slow he isn't!

I cant wait I got suprise tickets to the match.

Im hoping Mark Gonzalez will show his true ability in this game, should help him playing with the passing ability of Gerrard plus anyother first teamers. The only thing I care about is tonking them good and propper so the away leg is not much of a worry especially as we will be into the premiership season when the return leg is scheduled.

this way... garcia can drift to that right wing role sometimes while gerrard gets to play a free role in center midfield when are building up play.  Garcia against weaker opposition can add alot to liverpool's game by his brilliant dribbling and well-placed shots...
predic: 3-1 liverpool... not quite the best of results but... should ease through the second leg !

im a bit worried not sure what to expect from haifa, playing at home first can be dodgy sometimes but if we play well i dont see a problem but this is our first game of the season so the pressure will be on and with the money at stake here...this game is different from the last 2 years in champions league quallifiers,  maccabi haifa could be a stern test for us...a good first leg result and expect a bid for dirk kuyt by friday   ???

SHeMi. Magrashvilli is quite slow indeed, maybe not very but too slow for any of Liverpool's players, and has no real problems with defense. I am amazed that as a fan of maccabi haifa you don't know this.

Some information you need about Maccabi Haifa:

*Tomer Hemed is a big talent and he is sure to enter as a substitue. Make sure you learn well Tomer Hemed and his capabilities.
*Adorm Keisi will open and not Magrashvilli, this is certain.
*Rafel Olara has a very bad head-game. Stick Crouch around him and Maccabi Haifa will optically think Crouch is covered, but he won't be. This should be a very quick 1:0 for you.
*Elen Masudi has a bad head game as well, he is quite small and he can't reach anything. You only need some minor cover on him. However, he is very good is free-kicks and that's why he is in the team.
*Havier Anderson has a very good head game and should be covered well, and the head game of Yaniv Katan is the best in the whole team.

finnan.......hyypia.......carra...........riise
pennant......gerrard......sissoko.....gonzalez

a bit concerned about this game, haven't heard anything of maccabi haifa. dont know what to expect.
but i'm sure we'll win in the end. i'm predicting a scrappy 2-0 win.

Sound line-up that, mate.  I'd go with that one myself (switching Hyypia and Carra, however).

Final score: 3-0.  I'm backing Bellamy to have a blinder on his debut.  Two for him and one for Stevie...all set up by Pennant!

Come on you Red Men...stuff em and put this tie to bed!   :buttrock

I hate to sound pessimistic, but the game tomorrow won't be comfortable for us. On paper it should be but in the past we've had the problem of making things difficult more than they should be. Just look at our second leg results at Anfield in the last two years in this particular round.

We've had problems starting well and I can see that happening tomorrow as well.

Wouldn't surprise me at all.

i agree with you a.b.  it will most likely be a struggle tonight but i hope not,  on paper we should win with a bit to spare but its never like that, if we get a quick goal  it will be a different ball game... honestly i will be over the moon with a 2-0 score  :;):
