MACCABI HAIFA, the Israeli club, have approached Dynamo Kiev about the prospect of staging their Champions League third round qualifying tie against Liverpool in Ukraine.
The final decision will rest with Uefa, European football’s governing body, but after Dynamo agreed in principal to Haifa’s request, it appears certain that Liverpool will be spared a trip to war-affected Israel. Uefa is expected to confirm the decision on Monday.

The Lobanovsky Stadium has a capacity of only 16,900, but although Liverpool may push for the game — due to be played on August 22 or 23 — to be held at a bigger venue, the Merseyside club are likely to accept any ruling that ensures the safety of their players, staff and supporters is not compromised.

Haifa had been keen to play the game in Tel Aviv and Itzhak Menachem, the president of the Israeli FA, has accused Uefa of bowing to pressure from Europe’s top clubs to switch venues.

“I was approached by people from the Israeli club and also Israel’s ambassador in Ukraine, Naomi Ben-Ami, who asked if it would be possible to play the game in Kiev,” Igor Surkis, the Dynamo president, said.

“I gave my provisional consent and said that security during the match would be guaranteed. The Ukrainian football federation have already been informed about our initial agreement, as any final decisions over the staging of the game must be taken by them and Uefa.”

i post that earlier and have read in a couple of other websites since !

That wont be happening either...the ukraine?...nah not a chance...more likely hollandor solvenia.....that would do me.  :nod

because here in Israel,as for now, there is no channel who buy the broadcast credits.

and about the game:
we will open on this line-up:
             Davidovich
Harazi     Keinan       Olarra         Magrashvilli

Masudi       Boccoli    Dirceu      Andersson     Katan

                           Colautti

I think the first game will end in 1-1

Liverpool kick-off their Champions League campaign with a third round 1st leg qualifier at home to Maccabi Haifa on Wednesday night and you can watch the whole game live on liverpoolfc.tv if you sign up for an e-Season Ticket.
The Reds go into the game hoping to bounce back from a 5-0 friendly defeat on Friday at the hands of Bundesliga outfit FSV Mainz 05 and will be determined to record a vital win to take into the return leg at a venue still to be decided by UEFA.

The game kicks off at 8.05pm UK time and the whole match will be available to watch live on the official club website. To enjoy the live video coverage online, you will need a broadband connection to the web and a valid e-Season Ticket.

Well, seems they have more than just Sky and BBC out there  ???

But hey, don't you remember the great Benny Hill ? I think he was on ITV ....
I think that when LFC fans will see how your left back, Magrashvilli plays, they will think it is Benny Hill (or maybe even Fred Scuttle  :D )

Rafa, if you read this, PLEASE play on Magrashvilli ! he is sooooooo slowwwwwwwww ...
