As soon as Kuyt pokes in a ball in the 6 yard box, from someone elses work, every 3rd/4th game everyone forgets what Kuyt accomplish the rest of the time. Besides running not much else.

Precisely... I'm not a Kuyt fanboy but I just don't understand how people can't see Kuyt's value to the team. All his team mates know Kuyt's value. Yes he's not a Ronaldinho or a Kaka but he is also not a complete useless player. He IS of a certain standard even though he may be a limited. Otherwise he won't be a starter for the dutch team now can he? But his real value is in his team play, work ethic, no retreat no surrender attitude. He's never switched off in any game so far and always give more than 100% in every game. My kinda player. I would rather have a Kuyt in my team than a Babel. Plus he scores important goals whether it's in the CL or whether it's in the league. Liverpool fans of all fans should appreciate his worth ethic. Believe me if it's time to go for a player I will say it. Babel is one. But so far Kuyt has been valuable to the team.

I'm going to be bold and say that together with Torres, Gerrard and Reina he is one of our best players. It's sad that people don't see what else he brings to the team except "poking" in goals.

Eleven Kuyt would beat any other team in the world because of his tenacity and his die hard attitude. It would be like a pack of wolves shredding through a herd of sheep.

I think you've taken my post the wrong way.

It was a compliment to Dirk in that he's finally starting to prove the people who doubted him wrong after his dip in form(the same could be said for most the team this season), i wasn't bashing him in any way shape or form.

Your being told to change the record and no football debate has entered the fray. Its because it can't, they know your pretty much right.

What's to debate, exactly?  3 winning goals in the last 4 games seems about as straightforward as it gets.  Dirk Kuyt is currently doing the business for us and if that doesn't buy him a little praise and respect than I despair.  You'd think some of his critics might like to take a little rest from sticking the boot in while he alone is scoring the goals to get the club moving in the right direction once more.  It really does beggar belief around here sometimes.

When he's not scoring he's working hard, when he is scoring well he's erm, well, scoring, and also puts in his fair share in terms of assists, tackling back etc so what Bad Bob said. I've been saying it for ages of some players and someone said it on the 606 forums on BBC, some players who might not usually have a good game don't get rated on how they've played but on past games ie their performance isn't rated, it's how the person rating them thinks they are overall. With Kuyt it's just some people so wrapped up in his weaknesses that they won't acknowledge his strengths or when he has a good game.

I couldn't give a horseshit if all 10 of his goals this season we're off his gonads, he got something on them and we benefited from him scoring. And the suggestion every blue moon when he has a good game this thread gets him praise, what do you expect when a player plays well? (more often than many will admit) And to use BB's 'beggars belief', what does beggar belief is how a player can have a good game and there's a flood of retards who come in to criticise him. I'm not always convinced about some 'red card' offences on this forum, but to me criticising a player when he's had a good game, no matter how generalising you are in the way you do it, it's akin to booing a player off the pitch for being MOTM or playing well. There's plenty of good phrases in this thread, "he can't win no matter what can he?" is perhaps the pick on this page of this thread.

We need Kuyt, he's not the 'perfect solution' but he scores and does more than his share for the team.

What odds people want him dropped vs Arsenal? Four goals (out of five) in the last four games, if only someone else chips in with such regularity maybe we'd be at the top not clinging on to fourth right now. It's about time the likes of Insua, Babel, Riera, Mascherano, Rodriguez, Aurelio, Carra, Aquilani and one or two others chipped in with (more) goals. Even wonderboy £17.5m Johnson's goals dried up before he got injured - and N'Gog hasn't scored since before xmas.

Says it all really.

There are some very good posts in this thread where people have highlighted his short comings and, there are some good ones who believe he deserve more credit than he gets. But like I said the fact these discussions have been around since the signing of the Dutchman say it all.

Also it would be nice if some (myself included) could sit back after match winning performances and enjoy the win. But there seem to be too many people on here now who are intended on 'swinging their apendages around' to prove a point. They then proceed to pat themselves on the back and ask where the cynics are after a decent performance which comes around as often as a new moon.

I think Bam is right to be honest Bob. He and others have praised Dirk after yesterdays performance and he has scored some vital goals of late.
Fair play to him, he has been invaluable LATELY.

Having said that for the previoius 20 games he was dire, he really struggled and so many of our attacks looked toothless and short of creativity with him in the side.
Dirk is a player that i cant help but like, his attitude determination and will to fight for everything is great to see but that isnt enough throughout a whole season to warrant a permanent starting place for me.

The way Lando came on yesterday with the 'where are the people who were stating rafa had lost the dressing room' shout was a bit tedious.
Stirring sh!te after a great win and a day when everyone is made up with the result.
People arent trying to be malicious or nasty saying what they have said in the past about Rafa or indeed Dirk, they are judgements based on what they have witnessed this season.

If we are proved wrong we are as pleased as anyone, thats what the likes of lando cant understand, they see some sorta hidden agenda, a big we hate rafa campaign that is not the case.
Fact is we love LFC, not Rafa not kuyt or any idndividual, just the club and hope whatever happens the club succeeds and comes before any player or manager.

Bam he may not be pretty to watch, but surely you cannot doubt his worth to the team (even from a defensive standpoint). Fact is if he was so bad the players would not pass to him and when he scores all players run to him. Clearly he is important to the team. Most managers would have him in the team and find a place to accommodate him.

Not aiming it at you but some of the stick both manager and Kuyt got was not so much pointing it out but rather personal attacks. On a Liverpool forum surely this was one place to find fellow supporters.

The line is hazy between constuctive criticism and destructive criticism but what was said about the manager and Kuyt was bordering on hatred. I think Lando was talking about them.
