The frustrating thing is how we let them back into the game. They didn't have to work for it and it completely changes the dynamic of the game. I'm not happy with our defending at all and we concede far too may soft/sloppy goals. Just glad we have 2 strikers who can score for fun.
Take out the Toure mistake and we run out 1-0 or 2-0 winners. West Brom have always been a tough side for us, today was no difference. Unfortunately Toure managed to have a shocker and the game was taken away from us.
I'm as disappointed as anyone. Of course we weren't at our best as a team but that game was lost due to a single defensive mistake, nothing more.
Exactly. I love how people are over-reacting every time we lose or draw. "Worse display in a red shirt", "painful to watch" etc. Well pass me the f*cking razor blade! These games are always very difficult for the top sides. WBA took points from every top 7 outfit this season expect from City (but gave them a hell of a match).
For a game that was always going to be very tight, our approach to it was obvious, play it simple, avoid mistakes and let the quality shine through. We did everything apart from the second part, we made a mistake, and an unforced one at that. So I'm not going to blame the entire team because of that junkie's f*ck up. Had Toure not done the mistake, we would be talking about how good Gerrard was in that DM role yet again and how good Sterling was on the wing etc. and not about how badly we played (because we didn't).
Hull City was a bad game and Aston Villa was a bad game. This was not. We should have won and I'm disappointed as anyone that we didn't, but we lost because of an individual mistake and that's that.
