There is a collection of events, luck, beachballs, missed chances, good play by the opposition, poor play by us, individual awfulness etc etc etc etc which all come together to make a result in a football match.
Now, those of us who are saying Kuyt has been poor this season, and recently awful aren't blaming the fact we are failing to win football matches solely at his door, that would be silly. What we are saying though, is his presence on the right side of midfield in his current form is a major contributary factor to our lack of fluency. As I've said a couple of times, if you can't see that you are either clueless or looking through the rosiest of tinted spectacles. I've also said a couple of times that bizarrely he's probably still our best option out there, which says it all about the squad really.

Hard work, plenty of running, not disagreeable or moody, not skilful but bags of enthusiasm, will keep doing the same thing even if it doesnt work because he believes it will eventually, bad first touch but willing to try and get the ball back after giving it away.
Steadfast, dogged, determined and average...
