There isn't a manager going that is going to come in here and be some kind of good luck talisman. Our luck, and some of our performances of late are stinking to the core. Add in two of the biggest b@stards to ever grace - sorry, defile - the club, with a frankly almost untenable working quoata, no one is going to touch us with a bargepole. First it was Mourinho that people were w@nking over to save us, now it's Hiddink? Catch a f*ckin grip. Nothing will change so long as the Yanks are here. Get used to it. Yanks out first and foremost. Think about Rafa later.

Agreed.

Have said it before but Benitez is the one holding the club together at the moment when everything else is falling apart.  Sack him now and we'll be in bigger trouble imo.  He might never win us the Premiership and sure he has made mistakes, but to get rid of him now is suicide.  The Yank b@st@rds have to be dealt with first.

I should have added into my observations at number 7 or however fecking many I came up with, that Steven Ireland has developed into a very tidy footballer indeed. Bit of class about the way he passes it I think, if he's not a better player than Lucas then I'm Hungarian.

He plays a totally different role mick.He is attacking midfielder and Lucus is Defensive Midfielder.  :Oo:

It's been obvious since some time last season that Ireland is one of the best attacking midfielders in the Premiership Mick.

Lucas and Masch offer no flair in midfield what so ever, they are two little growlers breaking up the play, and Dirk needs to be dropped he's been very poor this season.
Once everyones fit stick Gerrard on the right or use Benayoun and Reira on the left or put Aquilani in the gerrard role.
Hope to feck Torres is back for the derby.
There is no-one anywhere in the world at any stage who is any bigger or any better than this football club.

Very disappointing result, i cant believe we keep conceding sloppy goals from set pieces, thats another 2 goals today conceded and thats the title over until next season, strange decisions by rafa today and the same rubbish in the starting 11 ie lucas, should rafa be sacked? if we dont finish in the top 4 i think he should.

You think we can't on current form ? Please send me what you smoking I need a few hits.

On current form, taking into account injuries and bad luck. I dont think we can drop much lower. I mean we have just drew to Man City, they arent a small team anymore.

Like i said its november, we have just had the biggest injury spell in years. We shouldnt be so negative.

Decent game considering the players we have....

Defence is worse then our Offence ,Skertel apart from looking like a murderer is a weak defender shouldn't be our future CB in no way...both goals were his...Lucas miss is symbolic of that flop of a player..Other then that i thought we looked Ok for a mid-table team...

Kuyt should really be benched for a game or two his performance is just pathetic...Our Physio staff should be sacked also for not performing...weeks and weeks of treatment and a Serbian Vet does more good in a days work..

Like to add people having a go at Babel today its out of order that de dong yong guy jumped and 2 footed Babel with alot of follow through I was surprised he did get a foul and yellow at least was a dirty tackle and I can tell ya those fecking hurt.

So many glum posts, I am happy because we got a point.  I was certain we'd get beat.  Most of you don't know how bad things actually are, you spent your time in La la land believing Benetiz to be some kind of Saviour.  When we go down in mid week to a tiny hungarian club you may well see how bad things actually are.  After that we have the derby game and that for me is D day.

Cheer up at least we're too big to get relagated.  Oh yes thats right so were Newcastle and Leeds.

It's not a system mate that makes Skyretl go walkabout then try a kung fu kick to block Adebayors header. Forget the zonal marking this time. He starts of by marking Adebayor, nnobody else even comes into his field of vision, he goes walkies, realises he isn't getting there, tries to atone and the City man admittedely puts an absolutely fantastic header on it.

What our centre half did there, and what their bloke did when presented with the opportunity, there's not a defensive system thats beeen invented which can compensate for. Unfortunately, if you're a ball watcher then there's no cure. I know from experience.

I think I agree with Avi on this one, Mick, but you're right about the ball watching part, though disagree with there being no cure. It's a combination of both. I'm seriously thinking Benitez, as well as the players, are at fault with the system here. It's clearly not working, and something needs to be changed ASAP. Skrtel looked indesisive about what to do if you watch it again. "Should I mark the space of the man", He was clearly aware of Adebayor, but didn't want to vacate his position in the system. There also seems to be a slack responce in players that are willing to actually attack the ball. Our center halfs have lost their bollox and they need to find some soon. Watching Dunn in the Ireland game the other night reminded me what we've been missing in the likes of Carragher and even Skrt. I wish we'd have gone for him, but even 6 million was too steep. Nothing flash about Dunn. He's just a old fashioned centre back, and thats something we've been lacking in defence lately. Needs sorted and sorted fast, because that's our main problem at the moment.

Yep, predictable, first result I had on my coupon today.  Says it all that I wasn't confident enough to stick us down for a win today though...

I believe the mistake rafa made today was not starting with Aquilani. He may not be match fit but I would put money on him doing more than what Lucas did.

And yes it is a risk starting him but this was a big game for us.. Rafa should of took the risk.

Do you think tho Rafa is more worried because Aquaman is his Ace card to get us out of trouble and if he plays him never mind him getting a knock what if he turns out to be not good enough as well that would be final nail in Rafas coffin.
