We were lucky to come away from anything from that game imo.  First half was pretty even but after we went ahead Man City started to play football and outclassed us to be honest.  Wright-Phillips especially was excellent and they carved us open a few times only to mess up the final pass/shot.

I think man for man, City had better players out there today.  They have weaknesses at the back, but in possession they at least looked like a team, whereas we looked disjointed - which has been the story of almost every performance this season.  It's gone on too long to be put simply down to form/lack of confidence.  Fact is we aren't good enough.

Mascherano played well, Gerrard looked like his normal self only in patches and Reina took a lot of pressure off the defence.  Beyond that I'm struggling for positives.  Kuyt looked knackered and out of form and the centre halves once again were abysmal.  Lucas is growing in stature but playing him with Mascherano simply isn't working as there's no creativity at all.  Insua looked out of his depth and not for the first time this season imo.  Good wingers can take him apart, I have serious doubts over whether he's good enough, his complete lack of pace at his age is a concern.

Based on what I've seen so far this season I am starting to think we will struggle to finish ahead of Man City this season, especially because they will bring in yet more quality in January.

Good Post

Couldn't agree more

How many goals from set pieces do we have to concede before Rafa admits zonal marking isn't working? Does he have a number in his head? 10, 15, 20 a season? Does he have a bottom line?
AND HERE COMES AVI COHEN!! OH I SAY - AT THE SAME END HE'S GOT ONE BACK!!!!!!!!!!

Luck as in injurys ? ciggy  because I don't think luck has any thing to do with why we not winning but I do think of course the injurys are not helping our cause.

Stoke put in a lot of effort but they arent a good team

We are lacking and creativity and look a shadow of last years team.

Im seriously fearful of finishing in the top 4 this season

and who's fault for this? the 2 owners?

It is someones fault and something needs to change

This has now become more then just a blip in the season

1 win in 10 games in terrible form for any team, anywhere!

How are we SO unlucky ffs!!

2 players injured in the first half just when we start getting our squad back to strength. This season is doing my head in.

As for people going on about hiddink.. he left the premier league because he was getting too old! He isnt getting any younger so why would he come back
???

like iv'e said time an time again, Lucas please change a game- score a goal do somthing to make me eat my words! ffs he won't get a better opportunity than that all season, the effort was fecking embarassing!

the last chance to win the game -why the feck did it have to fall to him. feck the argument at least he was in there to have a go- he should have without hesitastion buried it.

we played well in parts today, but what was frustrating for me more than anything was the fact we just don't kill games off at the moment! we go 1-0 up then fecking sat back an invited pressure an payed the price today. they were there for the taking - in the end i don't know weather to be p1ssed off that we didn't win the game, or that we a least got a point- am i on my own in thinking that? cause the chances we created were wasted an as a result created our own problems.

at least Raffa's name was sung during the game- well only after we scored anyway.
urgency is needed in our attacking play an midfield to support more for me, as we sat back too deep in midfield during the second half an the time an space we gave to city was a concern an we need to sort that out a.s.a.p. the injury's we had today didn't help either, that's probably why aqua man didn't appear but he has to play some role on tuesday night for me, we need creativity from midfield to enable gerrard to feel comtable in his free role.

but before all the Raffa haters start- please think before you post, you can't blame him for today. for me the players didn't take their chances to kill the game off it's as simple as that.

It's not a system mate that makes Skyretl go walkabout then try a kung fu kick to block Adebayors header. Forget the zonal marking this time. He starts of by marking Adebayor, nnobody else even comes into his field of vision, he goes walkies, realises he isn't getting there, tries to atone and the City man admittedely puts an absolutely fantastic header on it.

What our centre half did there, and what their bloke did when presented with the opportunity, there's not a defensive system thats beeen invented which can compensate for. Unfortunately, if you're a ball watcher then there's no cure. I know from experience.

Will hiddink work under the 2 yanks , that is the question? We surely need one more winger and a world class striker.

If the only reason we saying Rafa shouldn't go because everyone else won't manage under these owners means to me that its time for Rafa to go.

I think if the owner loves Liverpool FC , they have to sack Rafa and sign Guus ...

Oh f*ck off with the Hiddink w@nkfest, already! F*cking sick of it. Some of you lot need to get some perspective. There isn't a manager going that is going to come in here and be some kind of good luck talisman. Our luck, and some of our performances of late are stinking to the core. Add in two of the biggest b@stards to ever grace - sorry, defile - the club, with a frankly almost untenable working quoata, no one is going to touch us with a bargepole. First it was Mourinho that people were w@nking over to save us, now it's Hiddink? Catch a f*ckin grip. Nothing will change so long as the Yanks are here. Get used to it. Yanks out first and foremost. Think about Rafa later.

Nobody "hates" Rafa mate, some people just think that it might be time to consider other options. FWIW, I think we should give the man until the end of the season at least to see if we can make some progress.
