Juventus are ready to launch a £28m bid for Dirk Kuyt, according to frankly unbelievable reports in Italy.

Il Corriere Dello Sport claims that negotiations will begin next week as Juventus seek a replacement for Pavel Nedved.

The Czech star's agent Mino Raiola has told Juve that he will not accept a pay-as-you-play deal so the Old Lady have apparently turned to Kuyt instead.

Any bid would inevitably test the relationship between Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez and the club's American owners as Kuyt is clearly one of Benitez's favourite players.

it has to be a wind up i bet it was rafa trying to make everyone think we have a blinding player and it makes the money we spent on keane look so much better

As ridiculous as it may sound for Juv to want to folk out 28mil for Kuyt.. I think Rafa wouldn't consider selling even if it was true!

OK so 28 million is ridiculous and isn't going to happen even if it was ManCiteh who were interested the price wouldnt go that high.

How much is he worth really? Lets not get all ridiculous and say 200,000k, his market value, not matter what your personal views are, would be much higher than that.

8- 10 Million I think. We would only have Beneyoun left down the right handside. (apart from Gerrard) Rafa would not sell unless he had a replacement. Or I would hope he wouldn't.

Infact Rafa wouldnt sell unless we got a bid for 20million and I doubt that will happen. So, feck it, whats the point discussing it.

I think around 10Mil is reasonable although Rafa will probably say something stupid like 16Mil. If we can get a quality player in his place then I say sell him.

I agree Rafa and Parry will price people out of the purchase like he did with Alonso. We were happy whe they did that, but if they do it here I will be annoyed....
