Yeah, and you also Lando before you make a fool of yourself!
You did not consider the Manager's decision to change the team and the formation? that was NEVER going to work agaisnt a good in the air, resilient stoke team.
Benitez was to blame, wrong team, wrong shape! but you dont mention this in your post Lando.
The team should have been....
Reina
Carra Hyypia Agger Aurelio
Kuyt Gerrard MAsch Riera
Keane Torres
Rafa made too mancy changes and that cost us.
We are still top, and the stats dont lie, but we will not get away with dropping too many points for the rest of the season, and mark my words, will not "draw" our way to the title!
How long will we stay at the top!
I hope Utd and Chelsea do close in, because then we will see if LFC have got what it takes to win the league under pressure.
Because that's what it takes...
What if he put out Torres, Keane and a formation of your liking, because you're the boss and you know best, and it failed to work and we still got a 0-0?
Would you still be yapping? I think yes. I think half this f*cking board would still be gurning and still having a dig at Benitez no matter what. To think, if I went and pulled some of the comments out from the Rafa on SSN thread saying how some of the same posters on here that are berating the manager, were singing his praises to the high heavens in there. Make your minds up. You either love him or hate him.
P*ss poor result, but it hardly knocks us out of the league. It'll be the 11th of January tomorrow and we'll still be top. Not bad going for a sh*t team and a manager that hasn't an ounce. Although, granted, leaving Torres and Keane on the bench to start with was a bit baffling IMO. It was a sh*t game on a sh*tty cold evening away from home. Why should it be an easy three points in these circumstances? The performance of some players, however, was unacceptable. Some awful schoolboy-like errors from players that you really wouldn't expect to see. Hyypia was guilty of a few; Reina was guilty of one shocker, Mascherano just looked completely amateurish at times, and Lucas' balls dropped off somewhere around the half way point in the first half. He was shocking throughout afterwards with his lax square hospital balls across the middle, putting the back line under pressure. Riera was pretty average with wasting possession, and Gerrard just looked like a man that had a lot on his mind. Our main players just failed to function properly, and you can't attribute that to the manager, so get off his f*cking back. True he could have started an unfit Torres, and an off form Keane, but would it have made a difference? Probably not. Just another one of those days which we seem to be having on and off this season.
Not a bad synopsis of some of the performances....but what continues to baffle the bejaysus out of me is the Benayoun thing. This guy is truly and simply muck, and I cannot for the life of me understand the reason for persisting with him. Yes I gripe about Gerrard as well at times, and tonight he had yet another mare.
To have the quality we have on the bench, sitting on their jacksies for 60 mins (or 90 mins in the case of Keane) puzzles the phuck out of me.
I think Rafa got it totally ar$eways tonight. Methinks he's doing a Keegan of a few years back....
