Yeah he gets in the right places like i said, how many of his goals have deflected in this season

does it matter thou ? Isnt the main thing getting the ball in the back of the net ! Who cares how it gets there as long as it does . A goal slammed in from 30 yards into top corner isnt any different to a goal of a players :censored: ? End of day its still just the one goal and dont care if kuyt scores ten goals or more off his nose as long as he scores or anyone scores for us . Kuyt yesterday gave the same sort of performance he has done over last 12 months yet this time he is getting goals to reward his hard work .

Im saying he really needs to improve his shooting or he may not get so lucky next time, he's missed quite a few chances this season

if the whole keane not being able to score carrys on which i dont think it will. i think rafa should drop him and put kuyt up top with torres and j.p on the wing

And maby that will give keane a kick up the :censored:

But i want all 3 playing and if that means Kuyt on the wing then so be it,

Kuyts had well better games 4 us hes played better in most of his matches 4 us this season in fact

Hmm, I don't think it was weird, he is playing in his favorite position, which is as a striker. Basically using his strengths in that position got the best out of him. :)

Plus he´s got over his dad passing away and he is full of confidence.

He´s justifying his transfer fee now.

Couldnt be happier for the guy. Not only were they two important goals, he had 2 other good opportunities.

Could have left with a hat-trick...

A slightly wild assumption you've made there isn't it?

As opposed to just seeing the "running round like a newborn labrador puppy" and no goals you mean? Well, no, not at all as it happens.

I thought that he lead the line, held possession well, brought people into play and yes, scored two well-deserved goals as well.

As I said, thought it was a very good all round performance.

As for your assertion that all his other games for us this season were better, that's a laughable claim to be honest.

kuyt put in as much work on satyrday as he always does . he did a lot of things differently cause his role was different but he still did the same hardwork, running and effort as before - this time he added a couple of goals and could of had a hat trick and so far has been one of our most important players of the season alongside torres and gerrard. earning his place in the team .Chuffed for him . Hopefully he can continue playing the way he is wether that be up front alongside keane or torres or on the right side . Agree he isnt a right sided midfielder but he does cover the role when required . His best position is still as a forward - wether on the right side or support a striker but dont think he should play up front on his own cause he drops too deep to get involved.

I reckon Kuyt could play the Gerrard role behind the striker(s) quite well, stick SG out on the right. The good thing about Riera on one flank and Kuyt down the other is both pose a goalscoring threat, something Pennant often doesn't. I don't know why people get on Kuyt's back so much, he'd scored three goals before Saturday and was third in our goalscoring - not bad for someone not playing up front. We need goals, he provides some if not a prolific amount from wide and has a knack of popping up for late goals/winners. Add to that his workrate and it beggars belief he gets stick for games where he's not that effective, something a lot of players often get away unnoticed with

As for JTW's comments about Kuyt - "he looked like a striker". Well when Torres plays he looks like a striker, when he's sat in the stands he looks like a spectator - funny that.

I thought Kuyt and Keane both worked hard, the only real problem I saw was that they both drop deep leaving the midfield players with only the wingers and full backs as an outlet. This was exacerbated by the high back line that Wigan used in the first half, as our front players hadn't the pace to exploit space behind a defense.

The difference between the two strikers was very noticable, Kuyt looked full of confidence after his recent goals, while Keane looked more often than not for the easy pass, or tried to make sure rather than taking an opportunity to try his luck.

For me Kuyt is much better as a striker than as a Rightsided midfielder, but he may have to return to that role once Torres is fit. Kuyt makes space whereas Keane seems to fill it at the moment.
