What's going on with Riera? He was supposed to have his medical on friday, but no announcement has been made yet about him signing. Has Parry fucked up again?

Rumour on Rawk is that Hicks and Gillett have pulled the financing and that maybe the deal is off.

Maybe we are just waiting for the sale of Pennant to Stoke?

ive just heard this cannot release source just yet but word is they have withdrawn the funding !! he passed his medical yesterday after the fee was agreed to be paid over 4 years but we are hearing the owners have withdrawn the funds today when i hear more you will !

Hopefully a load of cr@p but we need to get our skates on if we are going to complete the deal.

Transfer deadline is midnight Monday, so we've got 2 full days yet.

Parry just got G@H in cos he knew he wouldn't have a job if DIC bought us.

He is a complete pri.ck if I ever meet the Tos.ser I might be forced to punch him in the face. :angry:

Just a rumour so hope it's not true , but considering the fella was flying over friday for a medical ,something doesn't seem quite right, probably nothing.

Though i think i recall reading a piece about him that said something along the lines of Riera might not be thrown in at Villa Park with the deal only being sorted over the weekend. He wasn't going to be used yet. Which kinda makes some sense, giving the lad a couple of weeks to settle in training with the squad etc..we'll see. Hope its bollox though about the rumour.

Yeh, certainly it was too early for him to play in Villa Park. Also the "transfer" and all these things that have to be sent from the Spanish FA to the English one might have delayed the thing a couple of days.

It would be strange that a player with no great injuries in his career didn't pass the medical.

Steve Havesall on radio city (the commentator) said at half time ,that he was just told by a very very good source that Steve Finnan was going to Espanol as part of the deal.

I Don't know if your source correct mate, but that movement would make sense because they just lost Zabaleta, and the rest of their defenders are not convincing.

hopefully it goes the deal goes through cause we need a left winger, i would rather see babel with keane, i reckon that that would work, cause then torres can be supported, by em both, also i reckon dossena will work with riera, cause from wat i seen riera is a pass and move winger he needs a supporting defender and i think he might become quite effective, because alot of teams opt for a very attacking right, so if they work well together and cause trouble going down the opposing teams left, all f these right sided teams my think twice! :P well hopefully :P

also riera likes to cut inside the box so he could be a bargain silva for all we know, hell usually rafa signs players most people dont have a clue about , and they always do turn out to be quite good so hopefully this may be another little hidden gem, he has always done good deals in the spanish league teams, so i will keep my eye out on this one, and in my eyes its good to see that we aint wasting all this money on barry to play on our left, soz but i just dont think he works well out there, to me its a little like gerrard on the right, in that he works well but he isn't just the usually incredible player he is, hes good but not incredible thats what i think, alot of people barate me for that but hey everyone has got to be different :P

hopefully we destroy villa!
