He seems frustrated at ManCity every game i see him play and hes obviously better than anything they got upfront or in the middle of the park bar Hamann.. Their team is slowly looking better and better though and they could potentially have the best squad outside the top 4 if they go ahead with the signings theyv been linked to.. Ronaldo, Joe, Elano, Petrov, SWP, Hamann, Corluka, Richards, Dunne, Kompany, Zabaleta.. i even rate Harte in goal ffs. Give them a couple of years and maybe a couple more signings and i think everyone will be talking about ManCity. Anyways back to Riera... Can anyone see him starting in any of the top sides:
Arsenal - Rosicky, Nasri - no
Chelsea - hehe - no
Manutd - NO
Tottenham - DosSantos, Bentley - no
Villa - Young - no
Everton - probably yes but then again why are they in this list anyways
Portsmouth - Krankjar - no
Blackburn - Pederson - no
ManCity - Petrov - no
Middlesbrough -Downing - no
Newcastle - umm new guy seems very good - no
Meaning there are atleast 11 teams in the league that have better left wingers and wouldnt have Riera in their starting lineups... makes you wonder what our ambitions for this season are signing average players who will most likely offer us little in terms of having an edge over other premier league teams.. because end of the day, thats what it is all about.
Before anyone starts talking about giving him a chance and him not yet kicking a ball. I do hoppe he does well for us and turns out to be the next Ronaldo but just cant see it happening. I have seen him play a few times for Espanyol and he hasnt imprssed me at all. Plays like Duff on one of his OFF days ... Can think of atleast 10 wingers or so who would have been in our price range and would have been better players to get imo.. and i dont think that splitting the money we were going to offer Barry into two and getting 2 average players instead of just going for one top winger was a smart move at all if that turns out to be the case. We already have players who can play in all different positions the only problem is that they are quite simply.. not good enough

Petrov is very overated and you forgot Michael Johnson who's one of the best prospects in england.
