Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

I just read on a Dutch site that Rafa wants to use Voronin in the deal with Riera
Does anybody know something about this?

btw, if he pulls that off: RAFA FOR LIFE  :D

I thought Kuyt was shit-hot towards the end of last season. After slagging him off for months, I really warmed to him. I thought he had a good Euro 08 too. He's just not got out of the blocks to quickly this season though, but then again, who has?

As for Riera, I've not seen him play so I can't comment. From what I've heard, he's not too good. I'd of rather have seen us sign Downing for a bit more cash.

Think this season so far he is having to play right mid in a 442 and that is definatly not where he should be played .

Totally agree on downing as well - would take him every day over riera and would be ok spending 10-12 mil on him .

Perfect signing - god help us if this is Rafas answer to the left .

no pace? - he's no torres but he's no slouch either
no trickery? - we all know about youtube but his clips show he has a trick or two
no guile? - as above
can't beat defenders? - as above

he's not the answer but he's a better fit than anything we have got. he'll give us genuine width and will allow babel and benayoun to be used where they are more effective - thus improving the shape and balance of the team as a whole.

i wish people would stop carping and moaning and slagging the guy before he's even kicked a ball for us. this has to be the most miserable lfc forum in existence. god help the guy if he doesn't turn in man of the match performances in his first 5 games.

:D

I think its clear that he is Rafa's second or third choice for the left is it not ?

not sure mate - his name has been menti9oned all summer - should of saved 10 mil on not buying keane and getting someone like pavluychenko and then spent the 10 mil saved on getting some like silva.

your begining to get right up my bugle now with your ridiculous comments.

I take it you dont like Keane either then?

oh and small problem signing Silva...

HE DOESNT WANT TO FKING COME TO ENGLAND YOU MORON!

hehe... dont think we should try and include voronin in that deal... tried to picture in my head how Espanyol would react to such a proposal and ddnt go so well:

Rafa: how about we give you Voronin for the discounted price of 3mill?
Espanyol: Fck off he's a sht player we dont want him.. 8mill cash and thats it.
Rafa: how about i give you 8mill in cash and u take voronin for free?
Espanyol: No thanks, we dont want him we'll take the cash only!
Rafa: ok. i give you voronin and 11 mill.. thats my last offer.
Espanyol  okay we really need the money we'll take him what can we do !

Heres what we have spent an re-couped Bigus Mickus.

Yeah I thought it was around that Lynds. The signing of barry then for 18 million ish would have taken our spending up to around the 45 million mark. We may not quite be outspending everybody, but I think it's fair to say the manager is being pretty well backed in the market.

No one has said he is :censored: - just saying they dont think he is good enough to improve us or take us to another level and think he is another second choice along the lines of pennant and nothing wrong with people showing their disapproval of that . yeah he will be given a chance just  like everyone else does but a lot of people dont hold out much hope for him . one year we get people like torres and babel and masher the next we get second choices like reira who has already shown for city that he isnt good enough - more than happy for him to prove me wrong but dont think he will .

we bought players for about 40mill and only sold for about 20mill or less so far so id say they backed him up pretty well. Not sure but i think we spent more than any other premierleague club so far this season except maybe Spurs.
As for the whole Barry for 18mill joke then im glad someone stepped in and did what had to be done.

Agree about pavluychenko - think we should of gone for him instead of keane at nearly half the price and used extra money to buy a better option for the left than riera

Yeah they really backed him well Mick!
Parry took 90% of the transfer window Fu*king about in the Barry deal(our number one target) when the manager thought everything was going well, then the Yanks pull out and refuse to put the cash up because it was in their eyes he was too dear.It was known all along how much Villa wanted so why let it drag on all summer and pull out so late leaving hardly any time to get players in?
If thats backing then we are fu'cked every season Parry and the pensioners remain at LFC!

Do you reckon , Tevez £32 MILLION ,Berbatov ? millions , United in one swoop have strengthend there squad ,beacuse they've backed there manager over the years with serious money .

Sell to buy only weakens the squad , by all means sell the dross , but you've got to back your managers judgement (Even £18 MILLION FOR BARRY) or you might aswell sack him and bring a coach in  and let him have no say in transfers whatsoever.
