It would be a dream come true if he moved on and I wouldn't miss him at all. As I have said before I doubt he will move before the end of the season though.
I think Rafa's problem is his ridiculous arrogance, I can see how that would :censored: the yanks off, plus playing boring football and struggling in Europe, hey maybe he'd be good for the England job after all  :p

Does anyone else think that the meeting was about transfers - rafa wants assurances now but G/H say wait until Dec 16th - and one of them said to him "focus on coaching and training" so he's repeatedly answered with that to wind them up?

It may be serious but then may all be much ado about nothing. Remember the summer? After we lost the final, the media was rife with reports of rafa about to walk and there being no money available. Then in a short time we spent loads and everything was suddenly rosy. Let's not panic just yet :)

Open your eyes, engage your brain and listen soft lad.

He joked that "Maybe if I improve my English, you never know" to which he and everyone of the press laughed.

How is he making sounds about moving on ?

Transcript of the Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez when questioned by the Press

You did kind of suggest to the TV people that you were open to possibility of the England job. Is that something we should treat seriously?

RB: It’s your decision. You never know what will happen in the future.

Were you serious when you answered it?

RB: I was serious.

As i said it appears like they are gambling and waiting on results before they act, that cant and wont work.

But as far as their concerned Ace, Rafa spent big during the summer, also Rafa was telling everyone he was happy with the squad. Babel and Benayoun are yet still to make a consistent impact on the team, thats 15 million right there. And although well in the case of Babel especially they need time to settle, that large chunk of money has only improved the squad so far. Rafa got it right with Torres he's had an impact on our TEAM from the word go. But Rafa still rotates him as much as Voronin against the likes of Brum.

If I were them, and having just spent 38 million pound in the summer with the manager saying he was happy with his squad now. I'd think right, you've got what you asked for deal with it. Rafa hast "dealt" with it, only Torres out of the three signings has hit the prem alight. Oh and Lucas another 6 million so thats 44 million and another youngster who hardly gets a game. So only Torres the impact out of four signings, the team still sitting around their usual fourth position and with some poor performances and c.rap results I'd be thinking very carefully about giving the manager any more cash to spend certainly.

They have to think of the finance and have the confidence that Rafa will spend wisely, obviously their not sure whether they have either or the latter at the moment and thats why there waiting on the results. Like said Rafa had the money in the summer, he didnt have a replacement lined up if the Heinze deal fell through and to demand more money is expecting a lot TBH. I think he should sell to make money available and if he sold players in Jan but couldnt buy until summer then so be it, he made his bed with the signings and now he should lie in it.

Exactly what I was thinking, but maybe I believe in too many conspiracy theories...

I think it is a worry, The fact he gave the same answer to about 20 questions is not really the actions of someone who is happy with his lot.  It is fairy obvious something has happened, but as usual, we the fans, the payers of the employees of OUR great club, will be the last to find out.

I think if you look at how Rafa left Valencia when he was upset with their board, it does add to the augument from the people in the "Rafa will leave" camp.
Our job is simple, to support the club, not just parts of the club that are easy to support, but every one who plays a part, that includes ALL players.  We are stronger when we are all walking in the same direction. Walk On

Tom Hicks: Quit talking and coach the players
Nov 23 2007 EXCLUSIVE by Tony Barrett, Liverpool Echo

LIVERPOOL co-owner Tom Hicks today ordered Rafa Benitez to "quit talking about new players and coach the players we have".

In an angry rebuke to the Reds boss who launched a cryptic attack on the club owners yesterday, Hicks made it clear the club will not even consider any demands from Benitez until mid-December at the earliest.

At yesterday’s weekly Melwood press conference, Benitez admitted he was frustrated with life at Anfield and continually told reporters that he wished only to concentrate on coaching and training his team.

His repeated comments have been taken as a thinly veiled attack on Hicks and George Gillett – who recently told Benitez to forget about transfers for the time being and to focus only on the players he already has at his disposal.

In an exclusive interview with the ECHO today, Dallas-based Hicks responded to Benitez’s comments by defending the level of financial support he has afforded the manager and insisting the time has come for the Spaniard to do his talking on the pitch.

He said: “After the Champions League final in Athens, Rafa made certain demands of us and we responded to those demands in the summer.

“We brought in some good players and spent more money than has ever been spent before at this club.

“We now have some crucial games coming up in the Premier League and the Champions League and we want to see if we can win these games with the players we have.

“This was the message we gave to Rafa recently and I think during the international break he must have grown a bit frustrated about this.

“We told him to concentrate on the games coming up and nothing else and I guess he didn’t like that.

“But, for the time being, we just need to be focused on what happens on the pitch.

“George and I will be over in mid-December and that is the time to talk about other issues. It is really time for Rafa to quit talking about new players and to coach the players we have.”

Sources close to the Americans admit they are concerned with the present climate but hope to see harmony in relations restored quickly.

I agree Bamaga that he made signings in the summer that havent had an immediate impact, but he recovered more than half of the £40million+ with the sales of players, and from what I understand the rest was made up from CL payments and Prem League payments. My understanding from what I have been told is the problem in the summer was that H & G wouldn't finance any transfers, which meant that Rafa had to wait for payments (not sales) before he could buy.

However Rafa was reported as saying he had £20million to spend only recently. He obviously thought he had at the very least the money he didn't spend on Heinze.

I think its a similar problem to the summer in that H&G are refusing to finance deals (at the moment) and would prefer actual sales rather than providing the finance based on guesses as to who will be sold and for how much.

"I am focused on training and coaching my team."

Just as you'd expect before a very important EPL game.

Maybe Rafa is concerned about missing out on certain players in the January window. People have been talking about how important it is for us to take a swifter course of action in this respect, and I therefore wouldn't blame him should he have concerns.

As of now, he's getting on with the job of preparing his team for a massive game. End of.

Bamaga, I hear what your saying mate and agree about the summer transfers, but surely these top business men know the score regarding football and transfers.
If they expected to give him a large transfer kitty and then Rafa to make his signings and everything to just fall into place immediately then they no nothing about football.
There are loads of factors that could effect the first half of the season, injuries suspensions, loss of form.
Rotation may not have helped but we'll leave that it at that.
At the end of the day, regardless of where we are in the league in January most managers will want to assess there squad. I think its only right that they back the man they backed in the summer and allow him to get on with his job.

Mate take the rosey Rafa glasses off, if anyone is acting childish then it is Rafa with his comments to the press yesterday.

I'm not sure but alot of that money recieved in sales and payments etc would also have to go back into the club, there are probably debts scattered about. Either way H&G like they said gave Rafa the 40 odd million to spend in the summer, has he spent wisely time will tell, and thats what the Yanks are probably thinking.
